presenting it to Bro . Goodman . The testimonial consisted of an illuminated address , handsomely framed and glazed , containing the following inscription : — " Extract from the minutes of the East Surrey Lodge of Concord Lodge of Instruction , No . 463 , held at the Crown Hotel , Croydon , on Tuesday , the 13 th day of January , 1880 . Woodward said that within a few weeks of seven years ago , the lodge was removed to Bro . Goodwin ' s , the Fox and Hounds Inn , where the brethren had spent many pleasant evenings , and had experienced from him on all occasions the greatest kindness
and attention . To meet Bro . Goodman ' s convenience , the lodge had been removed to the Crown Hotel , and it was felt that the least they could do would be to present him with some tangible expression of their goodwill and esteem . The lodge had , therefore , desired him to ask Bro . Goodman ' s acceptance of a mementoof their regard , in the form of an extract from the minutes , and he had much pleasure in
presenting it to Bro . Bro . Goodman , in a few words , thanked the brethren for this handsome recognition , which he should ever preserve as a memento of the goodwill that existed between the lodge aud himself . The business of the lodge was then proceeded with , and after some excellent working the lodge was closed in due form .
