Wanderers Lodge ( No . 1604 ) . —This lodge , which is largely composed of military men belonging to the Home Command , held its installation meeting at Freemasons' Hall , on Tuesday , the ioth instant , before a large gathering of members and visitors—among them Bro . the Rev . R . J- Simpson , P . G . Chaplain , and who has for many vears filled that office in this lodge ; Bro . Cottebrune , P . A .

G . D . C , and others . The usual routine business disposed of , Bro . Ogg , the retiring W . M ., installed his successor , gro . Thomas Sims , in a most impressive manner , and the new chief appointed his officers as follows : Bros . F . VV . Ogg , f . P . M . ; H . E . Fraser , P . M . 2206 , 2331 , P . P . G . Std . Br . At the banquet which followed , the usual loyal and Masonic toasts were duly honoured , Bro . Sergeant-Major Gardiner singing the solos . Bro . the Rev . R . J . Simpson responded to the toast of " The Grand Officers , " and alluded in kindly terms to the

hearty reception he himself had . always met with at the hands of the brethren of 1604 , with whom he had been associated for many years , and which acquaintance had left many pleasant and sacred memories which had left no sting behind . He was very delighted with the manner in which the Installing Master , Bro . Ogg , had performed his duties , and the way in which the W . M . had concluded the

work was a happy augury for very great happiness , and a high standard of excellence for the to-thcominsr vear . Bro . Ogg proposed the toast of the "The W . M ., " and spoke of his good qualities , and the earnest way he had climbed up the ladder of promotion , faithfully discharging the duties of each office in succession , until he had reached the chair , the duties of which , he ( the speaker ) was sure ,

the VV . M . would discharge with the same zeal , courtesy , and efficiency as he had those of the minor offices ; and hoped that the brethren would find their new Master plenty of work , which he was quite competent to perform . The toast was enthusiastically honoured . The VV . M ., after giving the toast of "The I . P . M . " in eulogistic terms , presented that brother with the usual Past

Master ' s jewel , the gift being suitably acknowledged . Bro . Barnett responded for " The Initiates , " and the remaining toasts were duly honoured . During the evening a high-class selection of music , songs , recitations , & c , was given , under the direction of Bro . Engel , the Organist , and among the artistes were—Misses Victor and Morse , Messrs . Hermann Samuels and Chas . Solomon , Master Herni , Bro . Sergeant Brown , and others .

Farringdon Without Lodge ( No . 1745 ) , —A meeting of this lodge was held at the Viaduct Hotel , Holborn , on the 27 th ult . Among those present were Bros-N . P . Lardner , VV . M . ; H . Heibert , S . W . j C . Bachoffner , J . W . j H . J . Lardner , P . M ., P . P . G . D . C , Treas . ; VV . H . J ackson , P . M ., Sec ; Murphy , J . D . ; Webb , Steward ; Capt . T . C Walls . G . Lewis was passed to the Second Degree . The ceremony was well performed . Bro . Herbert Herbert was unanimously elected W . M . for the year ensuing ; Bro . H . 1 . Lardner , re-elected Treasurer ; and Bro .

E . Mallett , Tyler . A Past Master ' s jewel was voted with acclamation to the W . M . Apologies for non-attendance were received from Bros . T . Simpson , P . M . ; C . Schultz , P . M . ; Nelson Prower , P . M . j Dr . Lott , P . G . Org . Eng ., Org . j Dr . Hinton , M . A ., Asst . Org . j andoih rs . Ihe ludge was then closed , and a b-nquet followed . The proposer ot 'The Health of the W . M . " said that it

seemed but yesterday that he had the pleasure of giving the toast for the first time of their W . M . However , 10 months had rolled by since then . He remembered predicting that Bro . N . P . Laidner , although but a young Mason , would keep up the traditions of the lodge . He had done so , and he ( the speaker ) trusted to see him ( the VV . M . ) install his successor in the chair of K . S ., and to receive the

jewel which had been voted to him that night , and which he had so deservedly earned . Ihe W . M ., in reply , said that he had done his best to Keep up the dignity of the lodje , and the hospitality and conviviality of the Fourth Degree . He took thatopportuof thanking the Past Masters and the officers for their cordial co-operation and support . The Farringdon

Without was a prosperous and important civic lodge , and he felt highly gratified in being its Master . He thanked the proposer of the toast for his kind remarks . In giving the toast of "The Past Masters , " the W . M . expressed his regret at the absence , through domestic trouble , of one of that distinguished body , whose geniality and ready wit had » on lor him not only the esteem of the

Bros . A . Lichtwich and H . J . Thwaites were raised and admitted as Master Masons . The banquet was most excellent , and as the three initiates

were all musical , they added greatly to the harmony of the evening , and Bro . F . P . Buxton played one of his compositions , the St . Ambrose March , with finished execution . Bro . S . White , the musical director , gave some of his favourite songs in his accustomed form , and a most enjoyable evening was spent .

Cordwamer Ward Lodge ( No . 2241 ) .-Theeleition meeting of this lodge was held at the Cannon street Hotel , on the 21 st ult . Bro . J . R . Keep , VV . M ., pre sided , and very ably initiated Mr . James Dangerfi « Id . Bro F . VV . Polter , S . W ,, was unanimously elected W . M . lira

Three gentlemen were proposed for initiation at the next meeting , and a visiting brother was proposed as a joining msmber . Bros . H . Lovegri . ve , Sec , Buck , P . M . ; and Hepburn , P . M ., with several members and visitors , were present . A banquet followed .

Galen Lodge ( No . 2394 ) . —The installation meeting of this flourishing lodge was held on Monday , the 9 th inst ., at Freemasons' Hall , when there was a larger attendance of brethren than at any time since the consecration . Bro . T . Hodgkin , P . G . Std . Br . Surrey , was most ably installed by the retiring VV . M ., Bro . Lancaster , a Past Grand Officer of Surrey , and appointed the following

brethren as his officers for the year : Bros . H . Mathews , S . W . ; J . VV . T . Morrison , J . W . ; Mackers , Treas . ; Rogerson , Sec ; Maitland , S . D , ; Bascomb , J . D . ; Butler , D . Several candidates were proposed for initiation , and it has been necessa-y to arrange emergency meetings tor the purpose of getting through the

great amount of work to be done this year . All the brethren present were unanimous in their opinion that the lodge had never been in more perfect harmony , and that there was a brilliant future before it . ' The brethren and their guests dined together after labour ,

and the postprandial speeches were interspersed with musical talent of the very best . Bro . Col . Money , C . B ., Prov . G . M . Surrey , responded to the toast of " The Grand Officers , " Bro . Dr . Dutton , 2410 , and several other distinguished brethren speaking for " Ihe Visitors . "

JERSEY . Mechanic ' s Lodge fNo . 245 ) . —The regula r monthly meeting ot this old and flourishing lodge was held on Thursday , the 22 nd ult ., at the Masonic Temple , Stopford-road , St . Helier ' s . There was a large attendance

After lodge had been closed , the members and visiting brethren adjourned to the refrectory for re ' reshment . The short speeches made during the proceedings being rendered doubly acceptable by the songs of several musical brethren .

La Cesaree Lodge ( No . 590 ) . —The regular monthly meeting of this prosperous lodge , which is theonly one in the island working in the French language with the consent of Grand Lodge , was held at the Masonic Temple , Stopford-road , St . Helier's , on 'Thursday , the 29 th ultimo , when there were in attendance very many members of the lodge and various sister lodges . Bro . Ph . Baudains , P . M .

( Mayor of St . Helier ' s ) , presided , and conducted the proceedings . of the evening in his usual able and genial manner . The grand feature of the evening was the annual official visit of the Provincial Grand Lodge of Jersey , when the D . P . G . M ., Bro . Dr . John Le Cronier , entered the lodge room , accompanied by a large number of Present and Past Prov . Grand Oflicers . 'There was no work to do , else all present would have had a thorough

mental treat , since both the W . M . and his oflicers are perfect in the rendering of the ceremonies attached to Craft Masonry . Lodge over , the brethren , by the invitation of the VV . M ., adjourned to the spacious refectory for refreshments , after which the usual Masonic toasts were tersely given and brie Hy responded to , the speeches being interspersed with songs and recitations . The proceedings of the evening terminated at the usual early hour of this lodge .

Bro . IT . H . Room , in responding for" The Provincial Grand Ollicers , " made , as is his wont , an interesting and instructive speech . He particularly alluded to the last Provincial Grand Lodge . He said that Bro . Lord George Hamilton , Prov . G . M ., was exceedingly pleased with the manner in which the proceedings had been carried out . One of their members had rendeied him ( the speaker ) the

most zealous and valuable assistance in carrying out the arrangements , and he took the opportunity of thanking him , Bro . Forge , P . M ., for what he ha I done . " The Health of the W . M . " was proposed in happy terms by the l . P . M . 'The toast of "The Visitors" was enthusiastically received , Bro . Beard , P . M ., making a humorous speech

in reply . 'The W . M ., in giving " I he Installing Ollicers , " spoke in high terms of the working of Bro Windeatt . The members of the Ldge were glad o see him trWougli ' y restored to health , and long might he live to . wear the Past Master ' s jewel that had been presented to him that day . The l . P . M . having replied , the toast ot "The Past

Masters , " coupled with the name of Bro . T . Middlcweek followed ; he , having replied , gave " The Ollicers , " and said that the VV . M . had courteously accorded to him the privilege of proposing the toast . lie then at length touched upon the good qualities of the various oflicers , all of whom , with the exception of the S . W ., were initiates of the lodge , tiro . Chandler , S . W ., bad won bis spurs in a

neighbouring lodge and was a Past Provincial Grand Officer . He was a gofd man and a Mason . At the banquet which followed , the usual loyal and Masonic toasts were duly honoured , Bro . Sergeant-Major Gardiner singing the solos . Bro . the Rev . R . J . Simpson responded to the toast of " The Grand Officers , " and alluded in kindly terms to the

hearty reception he himself had . always met with at the hands of the brethren of 1604 , with whom he had been associated for many years , and which acquaintance had left many pleasant and sacred memories which had left no sting behind . He was very delighted with the manner in which the Installing Master , Bro . Ogg , had performed his duties , and the way in which the W . M . had concluded the

work was a happy augury for very great happiness , and a high standard of excellence for the to-thcominsr vear . Bro . Ogg proposed the toast of the "The W . M ., " and spoke of his good qualities , and the earnest way he had climbed up the ladder of promotion , faithfully discharging the duties of each office in succession , until he had reached the chair , the duties of which , he ( the speaker ) was sure ,

the VV . M . would discharge with the same zeal , courtesy , and efficiency as he had those of the minor offices ; and hoped that the brethren would find their new Master plenty of work , which he was quite competent to perform . The toast was enthusiastically honoured . The VV . M ., after giving the toast of "The I . P . M . " in eulogistic terms , presented that brother with the usual Past

Master ' s jewel , the gift being suitably acknowledged . Bro . Barnett responded for " The Initiates , " and the remaining toasts were duly honoured . During the evening a high-class selection of music , songs , recitations , & c , was given , under the direction of Bro . Laidner , although but a young Mason , would keep up the traditions of the lodge . He had done so , and he ( the speaker ) trusted to see him ( the VV . M . ) install his successor in the chair of K . S ., and to receive the

jewel which had been voted to him that night , and which he had so deservedly earned . Ihe W . M ., in reply , said that he had done his best to Keep up the dignity of the lodje , and the hospitality and conviviality of the Fourth Degree . Galen Lodge ( No . 2394 ) . —The installation meeting of this flourishing lodge was held on Monday , the 9 th inst ., at Freemasons' Hall , when there was a larger attendance of brethren than at any time since the consecration . The short speeches made during the proceedings being rendered doubly acceptable by the songs of several musical brethren .

La Cesaree Lodge ( No . 590 ) . —The regular monthly meeting of this prosperous lodge , which is theonly one in the island working in the French language with the consent of Grand Lodge , was held at the Masonic Temple , Stopford-road , St . Helier's , on 'Thursday , the 29 th ultimo , when there were in attendance very many members of the lodge and various sister lodges . Bro . Ph . Baudains , P . M .

( Mayor of St . Helier ' s ) , presided , and conducted the proceedings . of the evening in his usual able and genial manner . The grand feature of the evening was the annual official visit of the Provincial Grand Lodge of Jersey , when the D . P . G . M ., Bro . Dr . John Le Cronier , entered the lodge room , accompanied by a large number of Present and Past Prov . Grand Oflicers . 'There was no work to do , else all present would have had a thorough

mental treat , since both the W . M . and his oflicers are perfect in the rendering of the ceremonies attached to Craft Masonry . Lodge over , the brethren , by the invitation of the VV . M ., adjourned to the spacious refectory for refreshments , after which the usual Masonic toasts were tersely given and brie Hy responded to , the speeches being interspersed with songs and recitations . The proceedings of the evening terminated at the usual early hour of this lodge .

most zealous and valuable assistance in carrying out the arrangements , and he took the opportunity of thanking him , Bro . Forge , P . M ., for what he ha I done . " The Health of the W . M . " was proposed in happy terms by the l . P . M . 'The toast of "The Visitors" was enthusiastically received , Bro . Beard , P . M ., making a humorous speech

in reply . 'The W . M ., in giving " I he Installing Ollicers , " spoke in high terms of the working of Bro Windeatt .
