PROVINCIAL GRAND LODGE OF CUMBERLAND AND WESTMORLAND .
The annual meeting of the above Provincial Grand Lodge was held at the Institute , Windermere , on Tuesday , the 3 rd inst ., under the banner of Windermere Lodge , No . 2217 . This lodge was consecrated in the Jubilee year , and has enjoyed much prosperity during the six years of its reign , having been represented at several festivals , and a worthy brother will again put in an appearance at the Festival for the Girls' School next May with a good long list .

Provincial Grand Lodge Of Cumberland And Westmorland.
The report from the Provincial Educational and Benevolent Fund was read by the P . G . SECRETARY , which showed the sum of , £ 10 voted to one brother and six and five guineas to two widows of brethren , which was unanimously adopted , and Bro . Rev . James Anderson , P . A . G . Sec , was , by a unanimous vote , elected Secretary to the Fund .
The D . P . G . M . then delivered his customary address , and reviewed the work of the province for the past year , and said there was still a steady increase of membership , and he hoped sincerely quality as well as numbers would be carefully adhered to , and it gave him much pleasure to give notice of motion for 100 guineas to be voted from the province to the R . M . I , for Girls , and to be added to a brother ' s list that would undertake a Stewardship for the next Festival .
Bro . T . A . ARGLES , P . M . 2217 , P . P . S . G . W ., said nothing would give him more pleasure than to take up a Stewardship for the next Festival of the R . M . I , for Girls , which was well received . The D . P . G . M . then introduced Bro . F . R . W . HEDGES , Sec . R . M . I for Girls , who eloquently addressed the brethren for some time on the great work the School was doing andthe success that had attended the pupils at the various public examinations , and thanked Bro . Argles for so promptly having taken up a Stewardship on behalf of the Institution .
Bro . J MILLS , P . M . 1390 , P . P . J . G . W ., gave notice of motion for 50 guineas to be voted to the Cumberland and Westmorland Educational and Benevolent Fund .
Bro . J OSEPH WHARTON , P . M . 310 , P . P . G . Purst ., gave notice for three Trustees to be elected for the Educational and Benevolent Fund . Provincial Grand Lodge was then closed , and the brethren were marshalled in order of procession by the P . G . D . C . and his Assistant , headed by the Windermere Brass Band , and proceeded to St . Mary ' s Church , where an excellent sermon was preached b y Bro . Rev . WILLIAM CREE , P . G . Chap ., and a collection was made on behalf of the Masonic Charities .
The brethren subsequently dined at the Institute , Bro . Geo . J . McKay , D . P . G . M ., in the chair , supported by the Provincial Grand Officers . The usual loyal and Masonic toasts were proposed and duly honoured after a most successful gathering on the banks and braes of bonnie Windermere under an almost unclouded sun the whole day .

The P . G . Treasurer ' s statement showed , with balance from September , 1892 , £ 353 r < 3 s . 1 id ., a total of receipts £ 812 5 s . 4 d . ; disbursements , _ £ 459 12 s . 5 d . ; balance in bank , . £ 352 12 s . 1 id . The PROV . GRAND MASTER expressed his great satisfaction with the large attendance at the meeting . He referred in terms of regret to the losses which the province had sustained during the past year by the deaths ,
among others , of Bros . Rev . John Cundill , for some time P . G . Treas ., and John Potts , P . P . J . G . W ., of Sunderland ; J . W . Barnes , P . P . S . G . W ., of Durham ; W . Mayson , of Hartlepool ; and Bro . Calvert , of Consett . He had intended to be present at the installation of Bro . the Right Hon . W . L . Jackson , M . P ., at Leeds , but the funeral of his old friend , Bro . J . W . Barnes , would prevent his being there , and he would depute his Prov . Grand
Secretary , Bro . Robt . Hudson , P . G . S . B . England , to explain his absence to Earl Lathom . The province , he was pleased to say , was progressing slowl y but surely . In 1891 there were 257 6 members subscribing , and in 1892 there were 2682 , showing an increase of 10 C . He had been pleased to see their worthy Prov . Grand Secretary , Bro . R . SECRETARY , which showed the sum of , £ 10 voted to one brother and six and five guineas to two widows of brethren , which was unanimously adopted , and Bro . Rev . James Anderson , P . A . G . Sec , was , by a unanimous vote , elected Secretary to the Fund .
The D . P . G . M . then delivered his customary address , and reviewed the work of the province for the past year , and said there was still a steady increase of membership , and he hoped sincerely quality as well as numbers would be carefully adhered to , and it gave him much pleasure to give notice of motion for 100 guineas to be voted from the province to the R . M . I , for Girls , and to be added to a brother ' s list that would undertake a Stewardship for the next Festival .
Bro . T . A . ARGLES , P . M . 2217 , P . P . S . G . W ., said nothing would give him more pleasure than to take up a Stewardship for the next Festival of the R . M . I , for Girls , which was well received . The D . P . G . M . then introduced Bro . F . R . W . HEDGES , Sec . R . M . I for Girls , who eloquently addressed the brethren for some time on the great work the School was doing andthe success that had attended the pupils at the various public examinations , and thanked Bro . Argles for so promptly having taken up a Stewardship on behalf of the Institution .
Bro . J MILLS , P . M . 1390 , P . P . J . G . W ., gave notice of motion for 50 guineas to be voted to the Cumberland and Westmorland Educational and Benevolent Fund .
Bro . J OSEPH WHARTON , P . M . 310 , P . P . G . Purst ., gave notice for three Trustees to be elected for the Educational and Benevolent Fund . Provincial Grand Lodge was then closed , and the brethren were marshalled in order of procession by the P . G . D . C . and his Assistant , headed by the Windermere Brass Band , and proceeded to St . Mary ' s Church , where an excellent sermon was preached b y Bro . Rev . WILLIAM CREE , P . G . Chap ., and a collection was made on behalf of the Masonic Charities .
The brethren subsequently dined at the Institute , Bro . Geo . J . McKay , D . P . G . M ., in the chair , supported by the Provincial Grand Officers . The usual loyal and Masonic toasts were proposed and duly honoured after a most successful gathering on the banks and braes of bonnie Windermere under an almost unclouded sun the whole day .

The annual meeting of the above Provincial Grand Lodge was held on Tuesday , the 26 th ult ., in the Town Hall , Bishop Auckland . There was a large attendance of Prov . Treasurer , Bro . C F . Sutcliffe , and of the Fund Committee ( read by Bro . C D . HILL DRURY , P . S . G . W . ) recommending grants to Masonic Institutions and to private applicants , were confirmed .
The P . G . Treasurer ' s statement showed , with balance from September , 1892 , £ 353 r < 3 s . 1 id ., a total of receipts £ 812 5 s . 4 d . ; disbursements , _ £ 459 12 s . 5 d . ; balance in bank , . £ 352 12 s . 1 id . The PROV . GRAND MASTER expressed his great satisfaction with the large attendance at the meeting . He referred in terms of regret to the losses which the province had sustained during the past year by the deaths ,
among others , of Bros . Rev . John Cundill , for some time P . G . Treas ., and John Potts , P . P . J . G . W ., of Sunderland ; J . W . Barnes , P . P . S . G . W ., of Durham ; W . Mayson , of Hartlepool ; and Bro . Calvert , of Consett . He had intended to be present at the installation of Bro . the Right Hon . W . L . Jackson , M . P ., at Leeds , but the funeral of his old friend , Bro . J . W . Barnes , would prevent his being there , and he would depute his Prov . Grand
Secretary , Bro . Robt . Hudson , P . G . S . B . England , to explain his absence to Earl Lathom . The province , he was pleased to say , was progressing slowl y but surely . In 1891 there were 257 6 members subscribing , and in 1892 there were 2682 , showing an increase of 10 C . He had been pleased to see their worthy Prov . Grand Secretary , Bro . R . Hudson , at Grand Lodge meeting , and referring to the recent consecration of the Clarence Lodge at West Hartlepool , he spoke most hig hly of the manner in which the clergy
