were signed for the ensuing quarter ' s annuities and for various current expenses . The list of attendances on the Committee for the past year was read . Bro . Clever , who had qualified as a Vice-President , retired , and Bro . Sillitoe also retired . Bro . Bro . Kempton gave a humourous recitation , " The Half Hundred , " in first rate style , and The PRESIDENT , in reply , stated that if he was correct in his working thanks were due to Bro . Baker , from whom he had learnt his Masonry . Bro . Ford then sang " lorn Bowling . " The toast of the evening— " Bro . Baker , P . M .,

Preceptor , and Honorary Member of the Robert Burns Lodge " —was then proposed by the PRESIDENT , who , in happy phrases , referred to the invaluable services rendered by Bro . Baker to the Robert Burns Lodge , and to Masonry in general , during the last 27 years by his untiring and accurate teaching of the ritual , his kindly and brotherly help which he was at all times so ready to afford to any young

Masons ; and he said that he was quite sure that all the brethren would unite in wishing Uro . Baker might be spared for many years lo come , that he was one of the oldest Preceptors , both in the Craft and Arch , and had given his untiring and undivided attention to his teaching younger Masons . After •' Annie Laura " had been sung by Bro . Blundell ,

Bro . BAKER responded , and , in thanking the brethren for the manner in which this toast had been drank , said that as long as T . G . A . O . T . U . spared him health and strength , he should endeavour to do his best to teach those who came to him for help . He felt it no mean honour when he said that most of the Past Masters of the Robert Burns Lodge had been " his boys , " and nothing gave him greater

pleasure than to see them take the chair and its work with credit to themselves and to the lodge to which they belonged . " The Visitors" were then proposed by Bro . BAUER , and responded to by Bros . REYNOLDS , SECKER , and COLES . The next toast was that of " The Treasurer and
