The lodge having been duly opened , the minutes of a regular and those of an emergency meeting were read and confirmed . Bro . John Tidniarsh , S . W . and W . M . elect , was then presented to the VV . M ., and a Board of Installed Masters having been formed , Bro . Tidmarsh was installed in the chair of K . S ., the ceremony of installation being performed by the retiring VV . M . in a masterly and most

Freemantle and T . Payne , Stwds . ; and G . L . Duffin , Tyler . The report of the Audit Committee was accepted , approved of , and ordered to be entered on the minutes . A letter was read from Bro . the Earl of Jersey , thanking the brethren for their present of an illuminated album containing a vote of congratulation , & c , on his appointment to the Governorship of New South Wales . The VV . M . then , in

complimentary terms , presented a handsome Past Master's jewel to Bro . Meech , who suitably acknowledged the gift . A resolution offering the best thanks of the lodge to the I . P . M . for the admirable manner in which he had performed the ceremony of installation was carried by acclamation , and ordered to be duly recorded on the minutes . On the proposition of the VV . M ., Bro . Howard Room , P . G . Sec , was

offered the honorary membership of the lodge , which was cordially accepted by that brother . It was decided to hold a ball in aid of the Charities , the arrangements for which were left in the hands of the VV . M ., Past Masters , and officers of the lodge . After " Hearty good wishes " had been tendered by the

visiting brethren , the lodge was closed , and an adjournment made to the supper table , where an admirable repast had been provided by the worthy hostess . The usual loyal and Masonic toasts were proposed by the W . M ., whose conduct in the chair and whose work in the lodge called forth many encomiums from the visiting brethren and others .

An admirable programme of music under the direction of Bro . W . C . Hall , P . M ., Organist , added much to the enjoyment of the meeting , which was one of the most successful ever held under the banner of the Jersey Lodge .

YORK . Eboracum Lodge ( No . 1611 ) . —The annual ceremony of installing the W . M . for the ensuing year took place at the Masonic Hall , St . Saviourgate , on Monday , the ioth inst . The lodge was opened by Bro . T . B . Whytehead , P . M ., G . S . B ., there being also present Bros , G . Chapman , W . M . ; J . S . Cumberland , P . M ., P . P . G . W . ; M .

Dalton , P . M . ; and the ' whole of the officers , and many brethren and visitors . After the transaction of the ordinary business of thelodge , Bro . George Lamb , who had been unanimously elected as W . M . for the ensuing year , vvas presented for installation

to the Installing Officer , Bro . T . B . Whytehead , who was assisted by Bro . J . S . Cumberland , P . M . The musical portion of the ceremony vvas efficiently carried out by Bro . VV . S . Representative , and the revenue and expenditure account vvas submitted and adopted . The installation banquet afterwards took place at the De Grey Rooms . Bro . F . VV . Halliwell catered in his usual excellent style . The W . M . presided , being supported by the following

At the conclusion of the banquet the usual loyal and Masonic toasts were submitted , including " The Worshipful Master and Prosperity to the Lodge , " proposed by Bro . T . B . Whytehead , which was received with enthusiasm . The speeches during the evening were of a practical character , and referred mainly to the growth of Masonry

in that and other provinces , and to the efforts to aid the Masonic Charities , Bro . the Dean of York making an eloquent spcechin returning thanks for "Grand Lodge . " Musical contributions were given by Bros . Child ( accompanist ) , Wilkinson , G . A . Chapman , VV . Blenkin , Cumberland , Pearson , Halliwell , Archer , and others .

The lodge was opened in the Third Degree , the candidate re-admitted , and the ceremony of raising rehearsed , when the lodge was closed in the Third and Second Degrees . The W . M . rose for the first timeand Bros . Richards and

, E . E . Pullman were proposed as joining members . Bro . Imlay conveyed to the lodge the promise of Bro . Blundell Maple to present a handsome set of tracing boards , and Bro . Kirby expressed the gratification the brethren felt for this kind and handsome present from their honorary member , and proposed " That the hearty thanks of this

Iodge be conveyed to Bro . Blundell Maple for the useful and acceptable present , and that the same be entered upon the minutes of the lodge . " Bro . John Pullman vvas elected VV . M . for the ensuing meeting , and appointed his officers , and announced that the work would be the first ceremony , the charge , and the ist Section of the First Lecture . All business being ended , the lodge was closed .

the candidate of the evening , and the ceremony of initiation was worked in a most impressive and able manner by the VV . M ., who also delivered the charge after initiation . Bros . IT . Sadler and VV . H . Kirby then jointly worked the ist and 2 nd Sections of the First Lecture . Bro . J . M . Thompson was proposed and seconded as a joining member . Bro . J . T . Ashby was unanimously elected W . M . for the ensuing meeting , and having returned thanks for the election ,

appointed his ollieers , and announced that the ' work would be the second ceremony , an explanation of the tracing board , and the ist Section of the Third Lecture . Bro . Kirby proposed that a hearty vote of thanks be accorded Bro . J . Pullman on the occasion of his first occupying the chair of this lodge , and conducting the business in so pleasing and eminently able a manner . This was unanimously carried , and acknowledged by Bro . Pullman in a series of agreeable remarks . AU business being ended , the lodge was closed .

Dehane received a unanimous vote of thanks , to be entered on the

minutes , and , in the course of expressing his thanks , pointed out the increased attendance , and the vast amount of work that had been rehearsed during the past year , no less than 13 brethren having perfected themselves so as to be able to occupy the cfnir for the first time with credit to themselves and to the worthy Bros . Read and Chalfont , who had been Preceptors . After " Hearty good wishes , " the lodge vvas closed .

The lodge having been opened , the minutes of the last meeting were read and confirmed . The W . M . called upon the Hon . Secretary for his annual report as to the work and progress of the lodge . The Hon . Secretary then in an able report showed that the lodge vvas making speedy progress ,

and the hope was expressed that the brethren would do all they could to aid the Preceptor and officers in the good work being done by the lodge . The Auditors' reports of the Iodge and charitable funds showed both to be in a flourishing condition , and some other business having been transacted , the members and numerous friends adjourned to the fourth annual supper of the lodge . The W . M . of the

mother lodge , Bro . J . VV . Kemble , occupied the chair , being supported by Bros . Dormer and Morgan , the Senior and Junior Wardens respectively of the mother lodge . After a good repast , well served by Bro . Chatrian , the usual toasts were duly honoured , the toasts of " The Preceptor , " "The Treasurer , " and "The Hon . Secretary " being coupled with that of " The Success of the Lodgeof

Instruction . These having been acknowledged by those officers , the brethren indulged in music and song until time called upon them to part . During the evening the following afforded pleasure by their playing and singing : Bros . Williams , Watts , Jessie , Norman , Horwill , Murphy , Hole , W . A . Smith , Penney , Colley , and Gregory .

complimentary terms , presented a handsome Past Master's jewel to Bro . Meech , who suitably acknowledged the gift . A resolution offering the best thanks of the lodge to the I . P . M . for the admirable manner in which he had performed the ceremony of installation was carried by acclamation , and ordered to be duly recorded on the minutes . On the proposition of the VV . M ., Bro . Howard Room , P . G . Sec , was

offered the honorary membership of the lodge , which was cordially accepted by that brother . It was decided to hold a ball in aid of the Charities , the arrangements for which were left in the hands of the VV . M ., Past Masters , and officers of the lodge . After " Hearty good wishes " had been tendered by the

visiting brethren , the lodge was closed , and an adjournment made to the supper table , where an admirable repast had been provided by the worthy hostess . The usual loyal and Masonic toasts were proposed by the W . M ., whose conduct in the chair and whose work in the lodge called forth many encomiums from the visiting brethren and others .

An admirable programme of music under the direction of Bro . W . C . Hall , P . M ., Organist , added much to the enjoyment of the meeting , which was one of the most successful ever held under the banner of the Jersey Lodge .

in that and other provinces , and to the efforts to aid the Masonic Charities , Bro . the Dean of York making an eloquent spcechin returning thanks for "Grand Lodge . The Auditors' reports of the Iodge and charitable funds showed both to be in a flourishing condition , and some other business having been transacted , the members and numerous friends adjourned to the fourth annual supper of the lodge .
