The lodge was opened punctually at four o clock by the VV . M ., Bro . VV . Al . Stiles , when the minutes of the meetings on Alarch 15 th and the 17 th of Alay were read and confirmed . The report of the Audit Committee having been read and adopted , ballot was taken for the admission of Bro . George Monk , 7 S ( S . C ) , as joining member , which being unanimous in his favour , that brother was duly
admitted . Bro . John Simpson Steel was then raised to the Degree of Alaster Alason , the ceremony being ably and impressively performed by Bro . VV . M . Stiles . The principal business of the evening was next proceeded with . Bro . Side having presented the W . AL elect , Bro . Henry Stiles , and the customary formalities having been observed , he was conducted , with all due rite and ceremony , into the
chair of K . S . in the presence of a Board of twenty Alasters . The ceremony was performed , and the addresses given , in a most efficient manner , securing for Bro . VV . AI . Stiles the commendation of all the brethren present . The newly-installed Alaster appointed the following brethren to office * . Bros . Geo . Clark , jun ., S . VV . ; Henry Lovegrove , J . he had installed his successor . Bro . VV . At . Stiles , was also the recipient of a very handsome Past Master ' s jewel , presented to him as a mark of the esteem in which he is held by the lodge , and in recognition of the manner in which he had performed his duties during his year of office . The lodge was then closed , and the brethren adjourned
to a sumptuous banquet , exceedingly well served , under the personal supervision of the Bros . Clemow . The usual loyal and Masonic toasts followed , including that of "The Grand Officers , " acknowledged by Bro . Rev . Ambrose VV . Hall , Past G . Chap . " The W . AL , Bro . Henry Stiles , " was proposed in genial terms by his brother , William Alason Stiles . "The Alasonic Charities , " to which Bro . James Terry
replied , appealing in eloquent terms for a continuance ot the liberal support they had always received from the " Aletropolitan . " Bros . Stiles and J . J . Alichael replied on behalf of " The Past Alasters . " Bros . Reed , Thompson , Peircy , Cleghorn , Briggs , and Edwards replied for " The Visitors . " The Tyler ' s toast brought a most enjoyable meeting to a close .
CRIPPLEGATE LODGE ( No . 1613 ) . —The installation meeting of thc above young and flourishing lodge was held on Thursday , the 19 th inst ., at the Albion Tavern , Aldersgate-street . M ., for the purpose of installing the VV . M . elect , Bro . VV . Aledwin , which ceremony was well rendered , ably assisted by Bro . J . L . Mather , as Director of Ceremonies , the Board of Installed Alasters numbering over twenty . The VV . M . then invested
his officers for the ensuing year . The names of several gentlemen were proposed for initiation at the next meeting of the lodge . All business being ended , the lodge was closed in due form , and the brethren adjourned to a most sumptuous banquet , served under the personal superintendence of Bro . Jennings . The usual loyal toasts were proposed by the
W . AL , Bro . VV . Aledwin . Bro . H . Gustavus Buss responded for "The Grand Officers "in an able speech . Bios . Alather and Abbott responded for "The Visitors . " The company were delighted with some good singing by those well-known brethren , Bros . Cosens , Hubbard , Dalzell , and Ashton .
STUART LODGE ( No . 1632 ) . —The first regular meeting of this lodge ( since the installation in March last ) , was held on the 23 rd inst ., at the Surrey Masonic Hall , Camberwell , the following brethren being present : Bros . George Lilley , W . AL , LP . AL ; Donald R . Clark , P . AI . and D . C . ; Stuart Bat ker , Thos . Poore , P . M . and Sec ; Geo . H . Gilham , jun ., S . VV . ; J . Walmsley , P . AL , acting
J . VV . ; Bessell , S . D . ; George H . Evans , J . D ., H . Baldwin , LG . Urg . ; J . Bannister , R . Barham , P . M . Steward ; Bowler , Tyler ; also Bros . Allen and Land , and several other brethren , including a visitor , Bro . Poer , 1949 . The lodge was opened , and the minutes of the installation meeting were read and unanimously confirmed , together with several eulogistic remarks from the brethren as
to the very explicit and able manner in which the highly esteemed Secretary , Bro . Poore , had recorded the large amount of business transacted at the last meeting . A ballot was then taken for Air . Thomas Swash , a candidate for initiation , which proved unanimous in his favour , after which he was duly initiated into the mysteries and privileges of the Craft , according to ancient custom , in
a very able and impressive manner by the W . AL , his officers rendering very efficient aid to him throughout the interesting ceremony . After some formal business had been disposed of , the I . P . AL tendered a very handsome gift to the lodge—an album , large quarto size , very handsomely bound in green Russia leather—as a memento of his pleasant year of office as VV . M ., and as a grateful acknowledgment lor the
handsome Past Alasters jewel which the lodge had presented to him . It was received by the W . AL on behalf of the lodge in a very gracious manner , when an unanimous resolution was passed , that the best thanks of the lodge be tendered to Bro . Clark for his timely , handsome , and serviceable gift , and it was suggested that the portrait of our highly-esteemed
brother should occupy the position of honour on the front P age . Bro . Bannister , the Organist , very kindl y undertook to place a suitable illuminated inscription therein gratuitously , and Bro . Stuart-Barker , notified his intention of procuring a case to preserve it in . After some formal business had been disposed of , the W . AI . closed the lodge , and the brethren adjourned to an
excellent dinner , when all the usual loyal and Alasonic toasts were duly honoured in very eloquent terms by the VV . M ., and were each received by the brethren with acclamation . The proceedings were interspersed and considerably enlivened by some good songs and recitations by the brethren . The Tyler ' s toast brought a very pleasant evening to a close .
NEW FINSBURY PARK LODGE ( No . ' 695 ) . —The installation meeting of this rising lodge was held on Tuesday the 17 th inst ., atthe Holborn Viaduct Hotel . There were present Bros . Davies , W . Booth was then passed to the Second Degree , and Bros . Langand Lewin were raised to the Third Degree . The ceremony of installation was then most ably worked by Bro . Davies , the retiring W . AL , and Bro . Thompson , was duly inducted in the

Spier and Pond , and a most enjoyable evening was passed , enlivened by the vocal abilities of several of thc brethren present .
DUKE OF CORNWALL LODGE ( No . 1839 ) . —This lodge met for the dispatch of business at Freemasons' Hall , on the 14 th inst . After the confirmation of the minutes , Bros . J . VV . Fowler , 13 S 1 , and A . J . Dixie , 453 , were unanimously elected joining members . The work comprised the raising ot Bros . Baistow and Ayres to the Third Degree , the passing of Bros . VV ' illiams , Garrett , Rossitter , Foot , and Ensworth to the Second Degree , and the initiation of five candidates , viz , Messrs . VV . Wilson , H . Morrell , VV . H .
Lowry , T . J . Jackson , and E . R . W . Bennett , the whole of the work being performed by the new VV . M . in a most perfect and creditable manner . The brethren afterwards adjourned to the Tavern , to partake of well-earned refreshment . A very enjoyable evening was spent , Bros . Alarcus , Williams , Ensworth , Foot , Garrett , and Feilden each contributing their quota to the harmony of the evening .

Bokenham , and John Richard Chant , which being pronounced in their favour , and the first four gentlemen being in attendance , were duly initiated into the mysteries and privileges of Freemasonry . A proposal for a joining member was then announced , and there being no further business , the lodge was closed in peace and harmony .
After partaking of supper , the usual toasts were proposed and responded to , including those of " The W . AL '' and " The Initiates , " who suitably acknowledged the same . During the evening some capital songs were sung , and the brethren separated , after having spent an enjoyable evening .
IPSWICH . —St . Luke's Lodge ( No . 225 ) . —The regular meeeting of this old and flourishing lodge was held at the New Masonic Hall , on the nth inst . when the W . AL , Bro . J . Daking performing the ceremony , Bro . J . Whitehead presenting the working tools , after which Bro . J . Napier gave the charge , the W . M ., assisted by Ero . P . Whitehead , completing the ceremony .
The Secretary gave notice that £ 3 3 s ., voted out at a previous meeting , had been paid to the widow of a late brother , who was lost overboard from his vessel at sea , and returned thanks for the widow for the welcome donation . The W . M . then closed the lodge in due form . The brethren , to the number of twenty-eight , sat down to an excellent supper , supplied by Bro . P . Harrisonof
, the Saracen's Head , which gave great satisfaction to the brethren present . At the conclusion of the repast , the cloth having been removed , the usual loyal and Alasonic toasts were given and honoured . " The Prov . Grand Officers , Present and Past , " were responded to by Bros . Barber and Dakine * . for the present .
and Bros . Prentice and . ibbott , for the Past . " The Health of the Visitors " was proposed by the W . AL , and responded to by Bros . A . Cannon , J . King , Alonck , Davies , and others . The I . P . AI . proposed "The Alasonic Charities" in a very exhaustive speech , calling upon the members to continue their support and increase their donations in support
of these very excellent institutions , such as no other Order could boast of , and supported in such a way as to do credit to the fraternity . "The Health of the Initiate" was then given by the W . AI . and received as usual among Alasons . Bro . Vidall responding . The Past Masters received the rerrular thanks of the
VV . M . and brethren for their attendance and assistance in carrying out the work of the lodge . The I . P . M ., Bro . Napier , proposed "The Master ' s Health , " pointing out the steady progress the lodge was making , and the satisfaction it must be to the lodge to find the officers in such a state of proficiency . The W . AL replied in the style which is so common to
him , and secured the attention of his listeners , pointing out the dignity that is required to carry out the duties uf his important office , and trusting his actions had been in conformity with the laws ot the Craft and the wishes of the members of the lodge , which the brethren proved had been the case Irom the hearty reception they had accorded the W . M .
" The Officers of the Lodge " were toasted in a most hearty way , and responded to by Bro . G . Abbott , S . VV ., who made some very striking remarks on the advancement of this very flourishing . and prosperous lodge , which numbered over 100 members on the book , and commanded a good number of votes to the excellent landmarks of tiue
Masonry , the charities . The Tyler's toast brought a most successtul meeting toa close . During the evening Bros . Palmer and Holt presided at the piano , and many good vocalists being present , some excellent songs by Bros . J . L . Brook , G . Abbott , J . 'Talbot , Franks and Alonk , were thoroughly enjoyed .

The lodge was opened punctually at four o clock by the VV . M ., Bro . VV . Al . Stiles , when the minutes of the meetings on Alarch 15 th and the 17 th of Alay were read and confirmed . The report of the Audit Committee having been read and adopted , ballot was taken for the admission of Bro . George Monk , 7 S ( S . C ) , as joining member , which being unanimous in his favour , that brother was duly
admitted . Bro . John Simpson Steel was then raised to the Degree of Alaster Alason , the ceremony being ably and impressively performed by Bro . VV . M . Stiles . The principal business of the evening was next proceeded with . Bro . Side having presented the W . AL elect , Bro . Henry Stiles , and the customary formalities having been observed , he was conducted , with all due rite and ceremony , into the
chair of K . S . in the presence of a Board of twenty Alasters . The ceremony was performed , and the addresses given , in a most efficient manner , securing for Bro . VV . AI . his officers for the ensuing year . The names of several gentlemen were proposed for initiation at the next meeting of the lodge . All business being ended , the lodge was closed in due form , and the brethren adjourned to a most sumptuous banquet , served under the personal superintendence of Bro . Jennings . The lodge was opened , and the minutes of the installation meeting were read and unanimously confirmed , together with several eulogistic remarks from the brethren as
to the very explicit and able manner in which the highly esteemed Secretary , Bro . Poore , had recorded the large amount of business transacted at the last meeting . A ballot was then taken for Air . Thomas Swash , a candidate for initiation , which proved unanimous in his favour , after which he was duly initiated into the mysteries and privileges of the Craft , according to ancient custom , in
a very able and impressive manner by the W . AL , his officers rendering very efficient aid to him throughout the interesting ceremony . After some formal business had been disposed of , the I . P . AL tendered a very handsome gift to the lodge—an album , large quarto size , very handsomely bound in green Russia leather—as a memento of his pleasant year of office as VV . M ., and as a grateful acknowledgment lor the
handsome Past Alasters jewel which the lodge had presented to him . It was received by the W . AL on behalf of the lodge in a very gracious manner , when an unanimous resolution was passed , that the best thanks of the lodge be tendered to Bro . Clark for his timely , handsome , and serviceable gift , and it was suggested that the portrait of our highly-esteemed
brother should occupy the position of honour on the front P age . Bro . Bannister , the Organist , very kindl y undertook to place a suitable illuminated inscription therein gratuitously , and Bro . Stuart-Barker , notified his intention of procuring a case to preserve it in . After some formal business had been disposed of , the W . AI . closed the lodge , and the brethren adjourned to an
excellent dinner , when all the usual loyal and Alasonic toasts were duly honoured in very eloquent terms by the VV . M ., and were each received by the brethren with acclamation . The proceedings were interspersed and considerably enlivened by some good songs and recitations by the brethren . The Tyler ' s toast brought a very pleasant evening to a close .

Baistow and Ayres to the Third Degree , the passing of Bros . VV ' illiams , Garrett , Rossitter , Foot , and Ensworth to the Second Degree , and the initiation of five candidates , viz , Messrs . The Secretary gave notice that £ 3 3 s ., voted out at a previous meeting , had been paid to the widow of a late brother , who was lost overboard from his vessel at sea , and returned thanks for the widow for the welcome donation . The W . M . then closed the lodge in due form . The brethren , to the number of twenty-eight , sat down to an excellent supper , supplied by Bro . P . Harrisonof
, the Saracen's Head , which gave great satisfaction to the brethren present . At the conclusion of the repast , the cloth having been removed , the usual loyal and Alasonic toasts were given and honoured . " The Prov . Grand Officers , Present and Past , " were responded to by Bros . Barber and Dakine * . for the present .
and Bros . Prentice and . ibbott , for the Past . " The Health of the Visitors " was proposed by the W . AL , and responded to by Bros . A . Cannon , J . King , Alonck , Davies , and others . The I . P . AI . proposed "The Alasonic Charities" in a very exhaustive speech , calling upon the members to continue their support and increase their donations in support
of these very excellent institutions , such as no other Order could boast of , and supported in such a way as to do credit to the fraternity . "The Health of the Initiate" was then given by the W . AI . and received as usual among Alasons . Bro . Vidall responding . The Past Masters received the rerrular thanks of the
VV . M . and brethren for their attendance and assistance in carrying out the work of the lodge . The I . P . M ., Bro . Napier , proposed "The Master ' s Health , " pointing out the steady progress the lodge was making , and the satisfaction it must be to the lodge to find the officers in such a state of proficiency . The W . AL replied in the style which is so common to
him , and secured the attention of his listeners , pointing out the dignity that is required to carry out the duties uf his important office , and trusting his actions had been in conformity with the laws ot the Craft and the wishes of the members of the lodge , which the brethren proved had been the case Irom the hearty reception they had accorded the W . M .
" The Officers of the Lodge " were toasted in a most hearty way , and responded to by Bro . G . Abbott , S . VV ., who made some very striking remarks on the advancement of this very flourishing . and prosperous lodge , which numbered over 100 members on the book , and commanded a good number of votes to the excellent landmarks of tiue
Masonry , the charities . The Tyler's toast brought a most successtul meeting toa close . During the evening Bros . Palmer and Holt presided at the piano , and many good vocalists being present , some excellent songs by Bros . J . L . Brook , G . Abbott , J . 'Talbot , Franks and Alonk , were thoroughly enjoyed .
