It was also proposed and carried that a subscription for the same fund should be opened , and remain open one month . £ 1 . lis . was immediately collected , which , with the guinea voted from the Fund , has been paid in to the Lord Mayor as the first instalment . Brett , gave notice that at the next Lodge meeting , on the 21 st October , he should move that the Lodge d ^ adjourn from November 11 th to November 25 th , m ^ opportunity of paying a fraternal visit on the 18 th November to the Domatic
Lodge of Instruction , held at Bro . Ireland ' s , Queen Elizabeth , King ' s Bow , Walworth Boad , which also meets on Wednesday evenings . From the favourable manner in which this notice was received , we have no doubt it will be carried into effect , and a strong muster of the Brethren may be expected . The Lodge then adjourned .

Bedford . —Stuart Lodge ( No . 787 ) . —The first meeting of the Lodge for this season was held at the Lodge rooms , George Hotel , on Wednesday , September 30 , and was numerously attended . A Brother was raised to the 3 rd Degree , the ceremony being very ably performed by the W . M ., Bro . Dr . Prior , who was well
supported by his Officers in the various duties they had to perform . After the labours of the evening were over about twenty of the Brethren partook of refreshment , and spent a very pleasant evening . The Lodge was honoured by the presence of two visitors—Bros . James Pearse , J . D . Lodge of Antiquitv , No . 2 , and Bittson , St . John ' s , No . 409 .
