THE ANCIENT AND ACCEPTED BITE .
The Supreme Council of the Ancient and Accepted Eite for England and Wales and the Dependencies of the British Crown held their autumnal session at their Grand East , London , on Tuesday , the 13 th October . At this meeting a warrant was granted to 111 . Bro . Charles Goolden , Sov . P . P . S ., who is
about to proceed to Scinde , to hold Chapters of Kose Croix of the 18 th Degree in the presidency of Bombay , in the East Indies . A donation of twenty guineas was voted to the Asylum for Aged Freemasons . A Consistory of Princes of the Boyal Secret , 32 nd Degree , was afterwards formed ^ and Bro . H . C . Yernon , Prov . GK M . for
Worcestershire was duly admitted . A Sov . Tribunal of G . Insp . Inquis . Com . 31 st Degree was afterwards held , and Bro Hyde Pullen was admitted according to the ancient usages of the Order . A meeting of Sov . Chapter G . Elect Knights K . H . was held at the Freemasons Tavern , on the 13 th October . The Most 111 . President of the Council , Bro . J . A . D Cox , 33 rd Degree , ably assisted by 111 . Bro . G . B . Cole , S . G . I . G ., 33 rd Degree
performed the ceremonies of the Degree in a most perfect and impressive manner . The following gentlemen were admitted into the Order : —Capt . K . Clerk , R . A . ; Capt . G . H . Eddy , Prov . Batt ., Colchester ; Frederick Slight ; John Barker , Newcastle ; J . R . Parr Shilter , of Nottingham ; R . J . Shuttleworth , of Berne , Switzerland ; W . Mansfield , of Dudley . Capt . N . G . Philips , of the 47 th regt ., who had taken earlier Degrees of the Ancient and Accepted Eite , under the Supreme Grand Council of Ireland , also received the Degree , at the request of several
members of the Supreme Grand Council of Ireland , and by special dispensation from the Sovereign Grand Commander . The banquet which followed was numerously attended by the Companions of the Order , amongst whom we observed the Sov . Gr . Com ., Dr . Leeson ; Col . Verner , Prov . G . M . Staffordshire ; Capt . Bowyer , Prov . G . M . Oxford ; C . J . Vigne , G . B . Cole—all of the 33 rd Degree ; H . C . Vernon , Prov . G . M . Worcestershire ; Dr . Goolden , and Charles Goolden , 32 nd Degree ; Dr . Kent , Prov . G . M . Australia , 31 st Degree . The Most 111 . President of the Council presided , and the meeting was conducted w ith that courtesy and feeling which is so characteristic of the meetings of the High Degrees .
