in this Province in particular , for not only were all the many newly-formed Lodges prospering , but the old ones were increasing their numbers , and , at the same time , improving in the character of their Members . His Lordship dwelt forcibly on the duty , as well as the policy , of Lodges looking rather to the character than to the number of their Members , observing that it was only by the careful election of sober , upright , and honourable men as candidates ,
