The appointment of that early hour for the dispatch of business ivas consequent on an anticipated heavy amount of ivork , ivhich appeared by the summons to comprise one initiation , three passings , and three raisings ( two of the candidates being foreigners and unacquainted ivith the English

language—every sentence ivould bo required to be interpreted ) , besides the installation of the AA ' . AI . elect . Fortunately for the serenity of mind of the chief de cuisine , some of the candidates were in-evented attending to take tlieir degrees , and the business ivas gone through in time for the appointed banquet hour .
