o-cnial sympathy with distress in all its forms . Brethren , he iiow appeals to us all , and expects that every man will do his duty ; with us it rests whether that appeal shall be made in vain or not . Let us not selfishly confine ourselves to supplying the wants ancl necessities of poorer brethren of the Craft , Tliis we have proved that we can do ( ancl , I am thankful to say , effectually ) , but surely our hearts are larger than this , and open as well to the calls of the uninstructecl world at large who are not
Masons ; ancl never let it bo said that in the provincial of Warwickshire a work of charity was allowed to flag for want of those means with which many amongst us have been so bountifully blest . Brethren , before the ceremony is closed , let us with all reverence and humility express our gratitude for having had this means of doing good brought before us . Let us invoke a blessing upon this and all our undertakings , especially on the architect , the builder , ancl the craftsman employed
on tliis building . May the-stone which we have laid to-day be the foundation of a structure perfect in all its parts , and honourable to the builder . May brotherly love , relief , and truth—the three grand principles on which our Order is founded—pervade all our life ancl actions , so that our alms ancl oblations may ascend , pure ancl unpolluted , to that Grand Lodge above , where the ¦ world ' s great Architect lives ancl reigns for evermore . So mote it be . " A hymn having been sun-r , the Rev . Bro . Joseph Ray
