The Constitution, Rules, Orders, And Regulations, Of The Aberdeen Mason Lodge.

The society , whose members are well affected to his Majesty ' s person and government , has for many years been composed of two classes , denominated Geomatic aud Domatic Masons . Under the former denomination may be comprehended noblemen of the first rank , many gentlemen of the first families and fortune iu the countryand others not professional

, Masons , Avho have become members . Aud under the last aro comprehended Operative Masons belonging to the town of Aberdeen . 1 . It is therefore resolved , —That the society be continued ; aud that the produce of the stock or funds of the society , and annual contributions ( with the

exceptions aftermentioned ) be appropriated and applied for the mutual relief and maintenance of all aud every the members thereof , in old age , sickness , and infirmity , or for the relief of the Avidows aud children of deceased members , annually , in the different classes , shares , and proportions after provided . That it shall be known under the name aud designation of the Aberdeen Lodge of Free Masons , for relief of distressed members , their widows and children .

2 . That the Official Managers of the society shall be composed of a Master , Depute Master , Senior Wardeu , Junior Warden , Treasurer , and Secretary , and six Assistants , Avho shall be elected from among the annual contributing members Master Masons of the lodge annually , by a free election or ballot , at the general meetingwhich is to be held for that

, purpose , upon the 27 th of December yearly , or the next lawful day thereafter , at such hour , Avithin their Hall in Aberdeen , as the Master , or Depute Master in his absence , may fix by an advertisement in the Aberdeen Journal , or newspaper , at least eight days before the general meeting ; it being always understood , that

the Master , Depute Master , Junior Warden , and Secretary are to be elected from among "the Geomatic Masons , and the Senior Warden , from among the Domatic , or Operative Masons as formerly , and that three of the six office bearers going out of office , are to be of the number of assistants for the following year , except in the event of these office bearers being re-elected iuto their respective offices , in Avhich case three new assistants at least shall be elected for the

year ensuing . 3 . That for the better conducting the business of the society , there shall be elected aud appointed three Stewards from among the Master Mason , members of the lodge , Avhose duty it shall be to attend all the meetings of the lodge , and perform the usual duty of that officeand to obey the orders of the Master and

, other Managers for the time . 4 . That the lodge shall also havo power to elect and appoint a Clerk from among the members of the society , whose business it shall be to attend all the meetings of the society , to make up the Treasurer's annual accompts , to keep a regular and destiuct Sederunt Book

' , in Avhich he shall regularly minute and enter all the orders , resolutions , and transactions of the society , Avhich shall be patent to every member . In this book shall be regularly entered and recorded the admission of every member , ancl the names of those found entitled to the benefit of the fundand

, the Official Managers for the time , shall have power to p llow him such a salary as they may think reasonable and adequate for his trouble , iu full 0 f all dues from entering members or otherwaA r s .

5 . That the lodge shall also have power to appoint a person to officiate as officer , whose duty it shall be to summon aud attend the usual meetings of tbe society , and the private meetings of the Master and other office bearers , and to obey their orders and directions in that capacity , and the Official Managers for the time shall have power to- allow him such

salary as they may think reasonable and adequate for his trouble , in full of all dues from entering members or otherways . 6 . That the Master , Depute Master , Senior aud Junior Wardens , Treasurer ancl Secretary , and Assistants for the time , shall be a standing committee

for the purposes of directing the Avay and manner , and the securities upon which the funds of the society shall be laid out , as Avell as the application of the produce thereof , subject always to the controul of the society , and five of the members of such committee at least , shall at all times be necessary to concur in

any act of such committee , and all acts aud orders of such committee , under the powers hereby delegated to them , shall have the like force and effect as the acts and orders of such society at any general meeting thereof . The Master or Depute Master being always one of the number of said five , and iu the absence of both , the Senior Wardeu .

7 . That all moneys , goods , chattels , stocks , annuities , and other transferable seeurieties and effects whatever , belonging to the society , shall be vested in the Treasurer of the society for the time being , and his successors in office , Treasurers of the said society , and none others , as Trustee for the use and benefit of the society .

8 . That all matters and questions coming before the society , shall be determined by a majority of the members present , and in case of an equality , the Master or Presses shall be entitled to the casting vote , besides his own deliberate vote . In the absence of the Master and Depute Master for the time , the

Senior Warden shall preside , and the office bearers in their order . And the society shall have power to impose and inflict such reasonable fines aud forfeitures upon any member or members who shall offend against the present regulations , as shall be just aud necessary for duly enforcing the same , or for keeping

regularity in the society . Such fines and forfeitures being always added to the funds . That the Master , or in his absence , the Depute Master , or Senior Warden , shall have power to call general meetings of the lodge , for entering new members , or otherways , as may be found necessary for the the affairs of the society , by the officer of the lodge , in the usual

manner . 9 . That the Treasurer shall keep the society's writes and papers of importance , receive in annual contributions , aud entry money from neAV members , and also the annual produce of the stock and funds , divide and pay away the monies agreeably to the directions of the society or official managers for the time , and

no money shall be paid away by him but by orders of the society or official managers for the time . That the Treasurer ' s accounts shall be fitted and cleared annually at the general meeting before mentioned , and the person appointed to the office of Treasurer shall be obliged to find security for his intromissions ancl faithful management , if found necessary , or insisted upon by any nine members present at his elec-
