No small amount of praise for the interest that has been excited is due to Bro . Captain Cope , P . G . S . AVe have , therefore , very great pleasure in informing our readers that on the 18 th of last montha new Lod bearing
, ge , Captain Cope ' s name , Avas consecrated at Sale , which is a rapidly increasing town on the borders of Cheshire , and a few miles rom Manchester . The want of a Freemasons' Lodge had for some time bet-n felt in the district , and a few months ago , a meeting was held at Avhich Bro . Edward George Simpson , who had interested himself greatlin the matterwas nominated bthe brethren as

The Right AVorshipful Provincial Grand Master having intimated his intention to personally perform the ceremony of consecration , a large number of the brethren assembled at " the Queen ' s Hotel , where the lodge is held , and doubtless more would have been present had there been accommodation for them . The lod
ge room , though small , is very handsomely furnished , the furniture , & c , having been supplied by Bro . R . Spencer , of Great Queen Street , London , and being some ofthe best workmanship we have ever seen . Several handsome presents had also been made to the lodge by the members . A Craft Lodge was opened at 3 o'clock in the afternoon , the following brethren being the acting officers : —Bros . W . F . Towle , P . M . 815 , AV . M . ; J . B . Cutter , P . M . and AV . The lodge Avas then consecrated by the R . AV .. to
Prov . G . M . and his officers in due form , and according ancient custom , the musical part of tho ceremony being admirably rendered by liros . Dumville , Stafford , and Standen , Bro .
