Huckvale , and the minutes of the last regn ^ r Lodge were read and confirmed . Tho only business on the agenda was the installation of tho W . M . elect , Bro . Leopold "Murray Nijton S . W . Bro . XV .

> S . Cantrell P . M . and Secretary took the chair , and the W . M . elect waa dnly presented at , tho pedestal for the benefit of installation . The preliminary qualifications for the office wero most impressively recited , tho ancient charges were forcibly enjoined , and Bro . L . M . Nixon was duly obligated . Tho Lodge was then opened in the third degree , and tho M . M . ' s retired . Bro . John Palmer P . M . took the

chair , and Bro . L . M Nixon was re gularly installed into the . chair of K . S ., and as W . M . of tho Wycombo Lodge for the ensuing year . The ceremonial in its entirety was most cnnsciencionsly performed , and thopo who aro acquainted with onr beautiful Ritual could not fnil to have been impressed by tho frno , earnest , and zealous rendering of onr accomplished Installing Master , Bro . J . Palmer P . G . S . W . Burks and Biu-ks .

It may bo mentioned that this interesting Lodge is only in its fifth year of existence , tho Warrant of Constitution dating from the year 1 S 74 . Tho first W . M . was our lamented Bro . Jesse Owens , who was succeeded by Bros . Palmer , XV . S . Cantrell , Hnckvalc , and the present W . M . Bro . L . M . Nixon . To these brethren tho success of tho Lodgo is entirely duo , and their names in connection with tho Masonic

After the usual routine business had been attended to , Bro . Morris initiated Messrs . L . Kretschman and W . M . Smith into Freemasonry . Bro . Morris relinquished the gavel in favour of Bro . Callow P . M ., who immediately set to work and opened the Lodge in tho second degree , and

in a , very able manner passed Bro . W . Fonlkes to take his seat among Fellow Crafts . The labours in this degreo being ended , the Lodge resumed in tho first , and after tho satisfactory disposal of its business the Lodge was closed-with solemn prayer . Majesty the Queen , Patron of onr Order , wag most cordially drank , i-he brethren singing tho National Anthem . Bro . Morris thon gave 'T . R . H . the Princo of Wales and Rulers of the Craft , Supremo and S ubordinate , which was heartily received , the brethren singing " God ^ loss tho Princo of Wales . " Tho W . M . had now to propose a toa ^ fc vhich was always submitted with great pleasure from tho chair , and

• eceived with cordiality by tho brethren . He had had tho honour of initiating two very worthy members into our glorious Order this evening , and was snro cho teachings of the Craft would not fail to tfford thorn thoso pleasures and advantages which they are so eminently capable of imparting . He cal'ed npon tho brethren to drink to onr newly Initiated Brothers . The new brethren returned thanks in a

"cry intelligent and heartfelt manner . Tho W . Master then gavo tho last toast of tho evening ( as very fow aro proposed on such "Ceasions in this Lodge ); ho had great pleasure in welcoming Visitors to their Lodgo , and he know ho was expressing tho feci . : ags of tho W . M . when he said thoy were truly welcome as often as they chose to come . Bro . Davies responded ; ho had been pleased

with his second visit to No . l'Oo ; ho thought the Lodge was as harmonious , compact , and worked as well as any in Liver , oool that he had visited ; he congratulated tho Emulation brethron on having snch efficient and punctual Past Masters , who , in the absence of their Worshipfnl Master , conld ably carry on tbe business that eamo before them ; ho always liked to see a Lodge profitably

employed , and was pleased that he had been p-ivil « ged to sse hero what ho wonld li ^ e to soo elsewhere , viz ., the W . M . and the Pa « t Masters work different degrees . Ib may here be added , that although Bros . Qnaylo , Morris and Callow work remarkablywell , there is an extraordinary difference in their method . Wo are , undoubtedly , crea ' nres of imitation , and , to a great extent ,

copy those with whom wo are associated ; bat in Freemasonry -, brother will zealously carry out the dictates of his own ideas . Bros . Coulson , Chapman , Gilfil ' an , Foalkes , and Strange kindly added to tho pleasure of the evening by singing some capital songs , and Bro . Hossac was most effective in a recitation ho gave . The Tylers' toast was eventually given , and the brethren dispersed .

ancient form , and the minutes of the previous meeting wore read and confirmed . The ceremony of initiation was rehearsed by the W . M . in his usual correct manner , after which Bro . 0 . Lorkin worked tho Sections of the lecture , assisted by the brethren . Bro . R . Olley wag appointed W . M . for next Wednesday evening . Tho fifteen sections will be worked on tbo 7 th of August .

Sackville Lodge , No . 1619 . —The regular meeting of this successful Lodge took place at tho Crown Hotel , East Grinstead , Sussex , on Tuesday last , the 2 nd inst . There was a numerous attendance of brethren , tho Provincial Grand Master Bro . Sir W . W . Burrell , and the Provincial Grand Sei rotary Bro . Freeman were present . Tho Lodge was opened at two o ' clock by Bro . W . Hall I . P . M . ( in the

temporary absence of the W . M ., who , arrived shortly afterwards and then took the chair ) . Tbe minutes of tho previous meeting having been read and confirmed , and the report of the Audit Committee received , Bro . James Hare , 193 , was unanimously elected a joining member . Bro . James Cooper was thon raised to the third degree , after which Bro . Walter Harwood was passed to the second degree . This business

having been disposed of , Bro . C VV . Noehmer P . M . 186 , and a member of this L- > dge , took tlio chair aslnsfcalling Master , when Bro . Charles Sawyer S . W . was presented by tho W . M . Bro . VV . U . H iok , to receive the benefit of installation . Bro . Chas . Sawyer having been dul y installed as W . M . of this Lodge , he appointed his Officers as follow : —Bros . W . H . Hook I . P . M ., C . T . Young S . W ., John G . Horsey J . W .,

Bro . E . A . Head as Sec , Wm . Hale P . M . 780 and 1351 ns Treasurer , S . Davison S . D ., W . Rudgo J . D ., J . G . Calway I . G ., H . Walker as Steward , and Sargeant as Tyler . The ceremony of Intallation con . clnded , a nnanimous vote of thanks was accorded to Bro . P . M . Noehmer , for the able manner in which he had performed tho duties . A vote of thanks was also conveyed to Bro . John G . Horsey J . W . for

bis present to the Lodgo of a carpet . Among tho Visitors present were : —Bros . Sees P . M . 180 and 1426 , Sheadd P . M . 267 , D . J . Robinson W . M . 186 , Earl 1 HG , J " . A . Reid 1673 , A . C Cooper 1673 , tt . wkes 315 , Webley 403 , Davey 732 , Taylor 1110 , and Byass 1465 . The labours of the evening being ended , the Lodge was closed in perfect harmony , and adjourned until the first Tuesday in September .

The brethren then assemb ed at a banquet held in the new and spaeiotis Market-room of the Hotel , aud provided by Bro . J . Wellor in his best style , and reflecting great " credit upon him , for besides the abundance of excellent things provided , the table and room were beautifully decorated with a collection of fine roses and other choice Rowers . After the brethren had done justice to the good things

before them , the W . M . gave tbe usual Loyal and Masonic toasts , which were duly honoured . The name of Bro . Freeman P . G . S . was coupled with tho toasts of the Provincial G . Master and Officers ; he , iu a very pleasing speech spoke highly of the success of the Sackville Lodge during the two years it had been in existence . The I . P . M . Bro . W . H . Lfook assumed tho gavel , and proposed tho health of the W . M . Bro . Chas . Sawyer , of whom he spoke in tho highest terms , both as a good

and diligent Mason , and a courteous , upright , and much respected friend . Ho was snro that the Sackvillo Lodge most prosper under his rule . Ho knew that every Bro . present was too well acquainted with Bro . Sawyer ' s virtues to need many words from hiin ; ho was a naiive of EastGriustead , and , until lately , a resident among them , but now he ( Bro . Hook ) and the rest of the London brethren have the pleasure and advantage of having Bro . Sawyer among them . The enthusiastic manner in which tho toast was drunk , proved the con-

Ib may here be added , that although Bros . Qnaylo , Morris and Callow work remarkablywell , there is an extraordinary difference in their method . copy those with whom wo are associated ; bat in Freemasonry -, brother will zealously carry out the dictates of his own ideas . Bros . Coulson , Chapman , Gilfil ' an , Foalkes , and Strange kindly added to tho pleasure of the evening by singing some capital songs , and Bro . Hossac was most effective in a recitation ho gave . Lorkin worked tho Sections of the lecture , assisted by the brethren . Bro . R . Olley wag appointed W . M . for next Wednesday evening . Tho fifteen sections will be worked on tbo 7 th of August .

Sackville Lodge , No . 1619 . —The regular meeting of this successful Lodge took place at tho Crown Hotel , East Grinstead , Sussex , on Tuesday last , the 2 nd inst . There was a numerous attendance of brethren , tho Provincial Grand Master Bro . Sir W . W . Burrell , and the Provincial Grand Sei rotary Bro . Freeman were present . Tho Lodge was opened at two o ' clock by Bro . W . Hall I . P . M . ( in the

temporary absence of the W . M ., who , arrived shortly afterwards and then took the chair ) . Tbe minutes of tho previous meeting having been read and confirmed , and the report of the Audit Committee received , Bro . James Hare , 193 , was unanimously elected a joining member . Bro . James Cooper was thon raised to the third degree , after which Bro . Walter Harwood was passed to the second degree . This business

having been disposed of , Bro . C VV . Noehmer P . M . 186 , and a member of this L- > dge , took tlio chair aslnsfcalling Master , when Bro . Charles Sawyer S . W . was presented by tho W . M . Bro . VV . U . H iok , to receive the benefit of installation . Bro . Chas . Sawyer having been dul y installed as W . M . of this Lodge , he appointed his Officers as follow : —Bros . W . H . The ceremony of Intallation con . clnded , a nnanimous vote of thanks was accorded to Bro . P . M . Noehmer , for the able manner in which he had performed tho duties . A vote of thanks was also conveyed to Bro . John G . Horsey J . W . for

The labours of the evening being ended , the Lodge was closed in perfect harmony , and adjourned until the first Tuesday in September .

The brethren then assemb ed at a banquet held in the new and spaeiotis Market-room of the Hotel , aud provided by Bro . J . Wellor in his best style , and reflecting great " credit upon him , for besides the abundance of excellent things provided , the table and room were beautifully decorated with a collection of fine roses and other choice Rowers . After the brethren had done justice to the good things

before them , the W . M . gave tbe usual Loyal and Masonic toasts , which were duly honoured . The name of Bro . Freeman P . G . S . was coupled with tho toasts of the Provincial G . Master and Officers ; he , iu a very pleasing speech spoke highly of the success of the Sackville Lodge during the two years it had been in existence . The I . P . M . Bro . W . H . Lfook assumed tho gavel , and proposed tho health of the W . M . Bro . Chas . Sawyer , of whom he spoke in tho highest terms , both as a good

and diligent Mason , and a courteous , upright , and much respected friend . Ho was snro that the Sackvillo Lodge most prosper under his rule . Ho knew that every Bro . present was too well acquainted with Bro . Sawyer ' s virtues to need many words from hiin ; ho was a naiive of EastGriustead , and , until lately , a resident among them , but now he ( Bro . Hook ) and the rest of the London brethren have the pleasure and advantage of having Bro . Sawyer among them . The enthusiastic manner in which tho toast was drunk , proved the con-
