> S . Cantrell P . M . and Secretary took the chair , and the W . M . elect waa dnly presented at , tho pedestal for the benefit of installation . The preliminary qualifications for the office wero most impressively recited , tho ancient charges were forcibly enjoined , and Bro . L . M . Nixon was duly obligated . Tho Lodge was then opened in the third degree , and tho M . M . ' s retired . Bro . John Palmer P . M . took the
chair , and Bro . L . M Nixon was re gularly installed into the . chair of K . S ., and as W . M . of tho Wycombo Lodge for the ensuing year . The ceremonial in its entirety was most cnnsciencionsly performed , and thopo who aro acquainted with onr beautiful Ritual could not fnil to have been impressed by tho frno , earnest , and zealous rendering of onr accomplished Installing Master , Bro . H . the Princo of Wales and Rulers of the Craft , Supremo and S ubordinate , which was heartily received , the brethren singing " God ^ loss tho Princo of Wales . " Tho W . M . had now to propose a toa ^ fc vhich was always submitted with great pleasure from tho chair , and
• eceived with cordiality by tho brethren . He had had tho honour of initiating two very worthy members into our glorious Order this evening , and was snro cho teachings of the Craft would not fail to tfford thorn thoso pleasures and advantages which they are so eminently capable of imparting . There was a numerous attendance of brethren , tho Provincial Grand Master Bro . Sir W . W . Burrell , and the Provincial Grand Sei rotary Bro . Freeman were present . Tho Lodge was opened at two o ' clock by Bro . W . Hall I . P . M . ( in the
temporary absence of the W . M ., who , arrived shortly afterwards and then took the chair ) . Tbe minutes of tho previous meeting having been read and confirmed , and the report of the Audit Committee received , Bro . James Hare , 193 , was unanimously elected a joining member . Bro . James Cooper was thon raised to the third degree , after which Bro . Walter Harwood was passed to the second degree . This business
having been disposed of , Bro . C VV . Noehmer P . M . 186 , and a member of this L- > dge , took tlio chair aslnsfcalling Master , when Bro . Charles Sawyer S . W . was presented by tho W . M . Wellor in his best style , and reflecting great " credit upon him , for besides the abundance of excellent things provided , the table and room were beautifully decorated with a collection of fine roses and other choice Rowers . After the brethren had done justice to the good things
before them , the W . M . gave tbe usual Loyal and Masonic toasts , which were duly honoured . The name of Bro . Freeman P . G . S . was coupled with tho toasts of the Provincial G . Master and Officers ; he , iu a very pleasing speech spoke highly of the success of the Sackville Lodge during the two years it had been in existence . The I . P . M . Bro . W . H . Lfook assumed tho gavel , and proposed tho health of the W . M . Bro . Chas . Sawyer , of whom he spoke in tho highest terms , both as a good
and diligent Mason , and a courteous , upright , and much respected friend . Ho was snro that the Sackvillo Lodge most prosper under his rule . Ho knew that every Bro . present was too well acquainted with Bro . Sawyer ' s virtues to need many words from hiin ; ho was a naiive of EastGriustead , and , until lately , a resident among them , but now he ( Bro . The brethren then assemb ed at a banquet held in the new and spaeiotis Market-room of the Hotel , aud provided by Bro . J . Wellor in his best style , and reflecting great " credit upon him , for besides the abundance of excellent things provided , the table and room were beautifully decorated with a collection of fine roses and other choice Rowers . After the brethren had done justice to the good things
before them , the W . M . gave tbe usual Loyal and Masonic toasts , which were duly honoured . The name of Bro . Freeman P . G . S . was coupled with tho toasts of the Provincial G . Master and Officers ; he , iu a very pleasing speech spoke highly of the success of the Sackville Lodge during the two years it had been in existence . The I . P . M . Bro . W . H . Lfook assumed tho gavel , and proposed tho health of the W . M . Bro . Chas . Sawyer , of whom he spoke in tho highest terms , both as a good
and diligent Mason , and a courteous , upright , and much respected friend . Ho was snro that the Sackvillo Lodge most prosper under his rule . Ho knew that every Bro . present was too well acquainted with Bro . Sawyer ' s virtues to need many words from hiin ; ho was a naiive of EastGriustead , and , until lately , a resident among them , but now he ( Bro .
