During the evening several of the

The General Committee of the Royal Masonic Institution for Boys met last Saturday , at the Freemasons' Hall , when there were present Bros . Raynham W . Stewart P . G . D . ( in the chair ) , W . former pupil and his mother , thanking the Committee for the grant they had made , which had assisted the boy into the Royal Navy . A candidate ( Musgrave ) was withdrawn from the April list , making the nnmber of candidates for the April election 64 instead of 65 . The Chairman said a
full copy of the letter , as originally sent to the Freemason , had been obtained from Brother Nicols , and as the General Committee had full confidence in the House Committee , it would be referred to the House Committee . After the
report of the Audit Committee had been read and adopted , £ 1 , 000 was ordered to be invested in India Debenture stock . One candidate was placed on the list for October , and an outfit of £ 5 was granted to a former pupil . The Committee then adjourned .
On Thursday Bros . Baker opened their new premises , the " Falstaff , " Eastcheap , and invited a host of their friends and patrons to be present on the occasion . We reserve our description of the hostelry till next week , partly owing to the pressure on onr space , bnt principally
because the opening for public accommodation will not take place till Monday next , when visitors will have an opportunity of judging for themselves of the enterprise of our worthy brothers . Meanwhile , we may state that Bros . Baker , who are known to be among the most prominent
and successful caterers for the public—the Angel , Islington , the Cock at Highbnry , and other houses are under their management—hare in fact surpassed all their former efforts . The accommodation and provision at the "
Falstaff" ai * e excellent , and those who enter its hospitable gates will be hard indeed to please if they cannot find the wherewith to satisfy their needs in the greatest of ease and
comfort-Bro . Davies will rehearse the ceremony of installation at the New Finsbury Park Lodge of Instruction , No . 1605 , at Hornsey Wood Tavern , on Tuesday next , 13 th instant , at eight o ' clock p . m .
