distressed Freemasons and tho widows and orphans of deceased Freemasons . This Lodge meets every month . Barnes was going np to tho Festival of the R . M . B . I . in lehrunry next . Speaking as ho did to large-hearted men , men having pockets , he asked them to give to Bro . Barnes , who was going round the table , something worthy tho Yarborongh Lodgo 554 , whilom 812 . Why , in connection with the Doric Lodge 933 they held 000 vote ^ , and when a member applied from thoso two Lodges for support , the very names

suggested recognition . At tho last meeting of the Lodgo of Benevolence , a brother of that Lodgo was granted £ 10 , while three or four members wore receiving £ 40 per annum . Then , brethren , give liberally . Placo your hands in your pockets , and give what you can afford , thereby enabling Bro . Barn-s to take up a large list , and sustain tho high character of your Lodgo in tho cause of charity .

Tho General Committee of the Royal Masonic Institution for Boys met on Saturday , the 4 th instant , at Freemasons' [ fall . There were present—Bros . W . Roebnck ( in the chair ) , Don . M . Dewar , II . Dearslov , 11 . MnggerHge , A . Tisley . 11 . Massey , Rev . Dr . Morris , ( Head Master of the Institution ) , F . Adlard , D " . R . Still , W . Mann , C . F . Matier , J . M . Dosell , S . Rothenthal , H . W . Hunt , W . F . C .

Moutrie , H . Yonng , H . T . Thompson , J . II . Cox , J . G . Chancellor , and F . Binckes ( Secretary ) . B-o . Binckes read a letter which he had received from Bro . John Symonds , who lately resigned his offico of Trustee of the Institution , neknnwledg ' ng tho vote of thanks passed at the last , Quarterly Court for his great services at all times to tbe Institution . A list of nineteen candidates for being placed on

the list for election in April was afterwards taken up and examined , Fourteen wore accepted unconditionally , and three conditionally . Tho list , when settled , showed 46 cases brought forward , nnd 22 new cases , with a possible addition of three more—making 68 , and possibly 71 candidates ; out of these there will be vacancies in the school for sixteen .
