THE Chapter General held its annual meeting at Freemasons ' Hall , Edinburgh , on Monday , 13 th March . In the absence of the Grand Master , J . White Melville , Esq ., of Bemiochy , G . B . Herriott , of Killiesmere , presided . In addition to the Grand Council , the representatives of St . Mango ' s Encampment , Glasgow , Sir Knight it . Bell , Esq . M . E . C . and G . W . Wheeler were present . The Grand Eegistrar , Sir Knight Major Hamilton Eamsay , of Garion , read the

annual report , which was unanimously approved , the principal topic was the repairing an old Priory at Dunfermline , which has started afresh under very favourable auspices . Tho committee on Statutes brought up the now code of statutes , which as they they had previously received the sanction of tho Grand Master wore passed and ordered to be printed . A document was

read from the Sepreme Council of the 33 ° for Scotland , referring to two members having been concerned in obtaining a charter or the power to open a Council in New Zealand from an unauthorised body calling themselves The Supreme Giand Council of Egypt . The Grand Eegistrar was requested to communicate with the Prior of Otago , New Zealand , informing him of tho true state of affairs . Tho election
