St . Mark Lodge , No . 102 . —This Lodge held a meeting in their own Hall , Buchanan-street , Glasgow , on Monday , the 13 th inst , Bro . J . Mitchell I . P . M . in tho chair . A proposition was mado for the reception of a candidate , which having been unanimously

sustained , he was initiated by tho acting Master . The Lodge was then opened in the 2 nd degree , when three brethren were passed as Fellow Crafts by Bro . T . Halkel P . M ., and as they were leaving the city they were afterwards raised to tho sublime degree by Bro . Halkel .

Chapter Of Elias Ashmole , No . 148 . —The annual convocation of this Chapter took place at the Chapter Rooms , Warrington , on Monday last , at four o'clock in the afternoon . Tho Chapter was opened b y the Principals , M . E . Comps . W . S . Hawkins Z ., W . Sharp H ., P . J . Edelsten J ., assisted by E . Comps . John Bowes P . Z . & c , D . W . Finney P . Z . & c , and W . Mossop P . Z ., & c , when the rest of the

Companions were admitted amongst whom were C . Crosier , E . Auckland , R . Brierly P . S ., J . W . Thorp , Lee Wilson , W . Woods , Thos . Tunsta ! , J . R . Yonng , W . Galloway , J . Jackson , Rose , Thos . Sutton , T . Pierpoint , and a visitor from Sonth Australia . The minntes were read and confirmed , and the auditors ' report presented and passed . The M . E . Z . announced that the next business was tho installation of the Principals

elect for the ensning year , and he had pleasure in calling npon their senior member as well as senior P . Z ., E . Comp . John Bowes , P . Z . P . P . G . S . B ., to perform the ceremony . The Comps . below the rank of installed first Principals then withdrew , and a Conclave was opened , and the newly elected Principals duly installed and invested in thoir

respective offices . The Conclave being closed , the Comps . were re-admitted , and the new Principals were greeted and proclaimed . The other officers were then invested , and after a cordial vote of thanks to the Installing Principal and a proposition , tho Chapter was closed , and the Comps . adjourned to refreshment , under the presidency of tho M . E . Z ., Comp . W . Sharp , and a very enjoyable evening was spent .

Bedford Lodge , No . 157 . —The regular meeting of this Lodgo was held on Fridav , tho 10 th , at Freemasons' Hall , Great Queenstreet . Bros . Follfot W . M ., Creek S . W ., L . Drew P . M . Treasurer , J . Hills P . M . Sec . and Past Masters—T . Cubitt P . G . P ., Millis , T . Smith , William Holland , Briggs , and W . Waghorn P . M . 910 . Tho Lodge was opened , and the minutes wero confirmed . A ballot was then taken for the admission of Mr . Charles Holland ( brother of W .

Holland P . M ., of the Surrey Theatre ) , who was dnly initiated into the Order . Thero was one passing , both the ceremonies being excellently given by the W . M . It was carried that the initiation fee be in future £ 10 10 s , and the joining fee £ 6 6 s . Tho Lodge was then closed , and the brethren sat down to a very capital banquet provided by Bro . Francatelli . The W . M . gave the nsual loyal aid Masonic toasts , Bro . T . CnbittP . M . P . G . P . responding with his usual eloquence to that of the Grand Officers . Tho tonsts of the W . M . and tho

Past Masters followed , Bro . L . Drew responding . "Tho Visitors was very eloquei tly and hnmorouslv responded to by Bro . Dr . J . Pope , Vo . 940 , followed by J . Wright P . M . ( Southern Star ) . The Wardens , Officers , and Tyler ' s toast were then given , and the brethren wero dolighted by the admirable and humorous vocalisation of Bros . Dr . J . Pope , Liddal and G . Parkes .

St . James ' s Union Lodge , No . 180 . —This celebrated Lodge met on Tuesday , tho 14 th inst ., at Freemasons' Hall , Great Queenstreet . Bro . W . C . Parsons I . P . M . occupied the chair in the absence of the W . M ., A . Annett S . W ., Stoner P . M . as J . W ., G . Bubb P . M . Treas ., H . A . Stacey P . M . Sec , S . Smith S . D ., Harrison J . D ., E . Farwi « - I . G .. Hart Organist , Gilbert P . G . T . Middlesex Tyler . P . M . ' s

Bros . J . Hamilton , Cameron , H . Robinson , L . Herf , and Bros . Lakin , Baker , Matthew , Van Duron , Miles , T . Layland , Pinto Leite , W . Sharpe , itc . brother of the Lodgo was relieved from tho Benevolent Fund with the sum of twenty guineas . Bro . Parsons I . P . M . proposed , and Bro . Cameron P . M . seconded , that votes of thanks—to bo recorded on tho minutes—be tendered to Bros . Annett , Pannell and Pilling for the valuable services Tendered by them as Secretaries to the St . James ' s Union Balls in aid of the Benevolent Fund , which won :

so successful . I his was carried . Bro . Annett thanked tho brethren , and said the sum of £ 00 had been realized by the first two balls , but the accounts of the last were net , yet made up . The Lodge was then c ' : 'i ; i : d , mid the . bpahivTi , i'O in number , adjourned I . . the Crown room , where a very excellent bni : q ; ict and dessert was provided by Bro . Francatelli . The W . M . proposed the usual loyal and Masonic toasts . In giving that of H . K . lf . the Prince of Wales M . W . G . M ., he said it was

pleasing to hear of the enthusiastic reception he had received in India , and he hoped that with tho sanction of Grand Lodge a Masonic reception worthy of our Order would be accorded him . The acting W . M . in proposing the toast of the newly initiated , said that Masonry did not consist of the simple ritual , its aim was to do good to onr fellow creatures . Masonry was now in the ascendant , and ho was proud to say large amounts were given to tho Charities . The new

brethren bring with them good recommendations , and they were pleased to havo them among them . Bros . Forster and Woodlow returned thanks . Bro . W . C . Parsons I . P . M . then said he had much pleasure in proposing the health of tho acting W . M ., Bro . Bubb ( loud cheers ) , their cheers at tho mention of his name was a sufficient proof of the respect he is held in . His working the ceremony of

initiation was a credit to any Lodge . He regretted the absence of the W . M ., but he was pleased to see tho chair soworthily occupied . Bro . Bubb thanked tho brethren . Tho W . M . was in a foreign clime , but his services in any capacity were at their service . The toast of the Visitors was responded to by Bros , the Hon . Captain Brudenell Bruce , McRao and H . M . Levy , and all expressed the great pleasure thoy

Confidence Lodge of Instruction , No . 193 . —This Lodge of Instruction was well attended on Wednesday last , when Bro . Read presided , and was supported by the following officers : Bros . The evening ' s bnsiness commenced in regular form , after which the ceremony of raising was rehearsed , Bro . Turner being the candidate .

Tho three sections of tho 3 rd lecture wero worked by the brethren , Bro . Gottheil asking tho questions , and Bro . Constable dictating tho replies . Lodge was resumed to first degree . Bro . W . S . Whitaker S . W . 1572 was elected a member , Bro . Biddle was unanimously chosen W . M . for next gathering . Conformably with tho confirmation of tho last week ' s minutes , this Lodgo of Instruction will henceforth commence business at seven o ' clock .

Percy Lodge of Instruction , No . 198 . —This Lodgo held its weekly meeting on Saturday , the 11 th of March , at Bro . Fysh's , Jolly Farmers , Southgate-road , Islington . Present—Bros . Defriez W . M ., McCarthy S . W ., Read J . W ., Killick Sec , Halford Treas ., Halford S . D ., Stock J . D ., Powell I . G . Visitor—Bro . Bauser Sec .

1471 . Bnsiness—Tho Lodgo was opened in the nsual manner and tho minntes confirmed . Bro . Huggins was passed to the degree of F . C . ; 1 st section worked by Bro . Stock , with the assistance of the brethren . Bro . Bauser 1471 was elected a member , and Bro . McCarthy elected W . M . for the ensuing week . Tho bye-laws , after a littlo discussion , wero agreed to .

Good Fellowship Lodge , No . 276 . —At a meeting of this Lodge , held at the White Hart Hotel , Chelmsford , on tho 9 th inst ., under the ] residency of tho W . M ., Bro . E . H . Carter , a testimonial , consisting of a valuable diamond ring , was presented to W . Bro . Joseph Burton , P . M ., P . G . Treas ., on his retirement from the ofRco of Treasurer to the Lodge , which he has hold for a period of nearly 20

years . Tho funds for the purchase of tho testimonial have been raised chiefly by subscription from the Brethren of the Lodge , but tho subscribers included the Prov . Grand Master , Bro . Robert J . Bagshaw , and Bro . Matthew Clark , tho D . P . G . M . The ring bears tho following inscription : " Presented to Bro . J . Burton P . M . Lodge 27 G , 9 th March 1876 .

Athol Lodge , No . 413 . —This Lodge held a meeting at 213 Buchanan-street , Glasgow , on Tuesday , tho 14 th inst . Bros . Louttitt R . W . M ., D . Leeds S . W ., A . Holmes J . W ., R . Graham Sec , P . Aguew Treas . There were two candidates for initiation , after which

Bros . J . Cox and G . T . Nichol wore proposed as Fellow Crafts , and by tho kind permission of the Lodge Bro . Morris Sagman of No . 73 also received the Fellow Craft degree , for which Bro . J . Good Fellowship Lodge , No . 276 . —At a meeting of this Lodge , held at the White Hart Hotel , Chelmsford , on tho 9 th inst ., under the ] residency of tho W . M ., Bro . E . H . Carter , a testimonial , consisting of a valuable diamond ring , was presented to W . Bro . Joseph Burton , P . M ., P . G . Treas ., on his retirement from the ofRco of Treasurer to the Lodge , which he has hold for a period of nearly 20

years . Tho funds for the purchase of tho testimonial have been raised chiefly by subscription from the Brethren of the Lodge , but tho subscribers included the Prov . Grand Master , Bro . Robert J .
