With great pleasure we announce that R . W . Bro . Sir W . W . Barrell , M . P ., P . G . M . has consented to preside as Chairman at tho 97 th Anniversai'y Festival of the Royal Masonic Institution for Girls in May next . Our R . W . brother ' s consent was made the subject of congratulatory

reference at the annual meeting on Thursday last of the Prov . Grand Lodge of Sussex , and as we all know how largely the Province has of late years assisted our Institutions , we may anticipate a very signal success at tho next Festival . We congratulate Bro . Hedges on having secured the services of so distinguished and popular a brother .

We understand that the chair at the Anniversary Festival of the Emulation Lodge of Improvement , which will take place at Freemasons' Tavern , on Friday , tho 27 th November , will be taken by Right Worshipful Bro . Alderman Fowler , M . P ., Junior Grand Warden .

Tho Fifteen Sections will be worked at the Fidelity Lodge of Instruction , No . 3 , at the AFred , Roman Road , Barnsbury , N ., by the brethren of the King ' s Cross Lodge of Instruction , No . 1732 , on Wednesday , the 22 nd inst ., at seven o ' clock .

With the view of meeting the great addition of business anticipated when the sixpenny rate for telegrams comes into operation , four wires are being added to the west-coast system between England and Glasgow .

CROWDED OUT . —We are compelled to hold over several items of news , Lodge reports , and other matters , for want of space ,

The Sixth Annual National Exhibition and Market of Brewers ' , Licensed Victuallers ' , and Mineral Mater Trade Machinery and Appliances , whioh opens at the Agricultural Hall , on Monday next , 20 th October , will be the most thoroughly representative of the series . Every foot of the ground floor has long since been taken up , and many new improvements will be on view . One of the galleries is this year oecnpied for a billiard tournament on an extensive scale , inwhioh all the champions will take part .
