At the door of the church the procession halted and filed off , and the coffin was carried onward , the Provincial Grand Chaplain reading the funeral service . On entering the church , the "Dead March in Saul" was most beautifully performed on the organ ; the Brethren then advanced up the aisle . On the desk service being endedthe Brethren
, formed themselves into procession to the burial-ground , where a circle was made round the grave by the Brethren : the coffin was then lowered into the grave , the Brethren of the Lodge being on one side and the mourners on the other ; and after the final service was read , that part of the funeral service from Preston was delivered b y the Provincial Grand Chaplain , the Itev .
