Bro . Crew Avas , as usual , exceedingly active and zealous during the evening in his endeavours that those present should be happy and comfortable . Bro . Harker Avas almost beyond himself in his exertions as toastmaster . The dinner and Avines were excellent , and the managers of the tavern must meet Avith success , if they continue as they have commenced .

HELD ON FRIDAY , May 14 , 1852 . Present . —Sir Knt . C . K . K . Tynte , M . E . and S . G . M . ; Sir Knt . AV . Stuart , D . G . M . ; Sir Knt . J . C . Morris , G . S . P . ; Sir ICnt . Rev . E . The Report of the Committee for General Purposes Avas read . Sir Knt . Spiers , 2 nd G . C , inoA'ed , that the Report be received and entered on the minutes ; and the same being duly seconded , Avas agreed to accordingly . The Grand Chancellor then read seriatim seA'eral of the propositions contained in the Report of the Committee for General
Purposes , Avhen alter considerable discussion it was resolved : — 1 st . That the Cross patee be the emblem of Knts . Companions . 2 nd . That the Patriarchal Cross be the emblem of E . C . ' s , and Past E . C . ' s . 3 rd . That the Triple Gross of Salem he , and still continue the emblem of the M . E . and S . G . M . alone . 4 th . That the cloak or mantle Avorn b y the Knts . Companions have on the left shoulder the Cross pa-tie in red silk , 9 g inches in diameter ;
and that AA'orn by PI C . ' s and Past E . C . ' s have on the left shoulder the Patriarchal Cross in red silk , 10 J inches long . 5 th . That the Crosses Avorn as jeAvels be red enamel gold , or gilt ; and the Cross patee be 1 inch in diameter ; and the Patriarchal Cross
be 2 inches long . 6 th . That the Cross patie be suspended from the left breast hy a Syrian Ribbon , ^ of an inch wide ; and that the Patriarchal Cross be suspended by a Syrian Ribbon , 1 J inches Avide , worn round the neck . 7 th . That the SAA ord , AA'hen Avorn by the Knights , be suspended by the Baldric . 8 th . That the foregoing Resolutions shall be imperative only on Knights who may be henceforth installed Companions of the Order , or who may be appointed to any office in the Grand Conclave .
