A meeting of the Supreme Council of Sovereign Grand Inspectors for England and AVales , called by special summons , was held at the Bridge House Hotel , London Bridge , on Thursday , tbe 26 th day of May , A . D . 1853 , for the purpose of filling up a vacancy in the Supreme Council . The Sov . Commander of the Order presided . The Council was very fully attended . The Council was opened in ample form . All the members of the Council being unanimous in
favour of the admission of the 111 . Bro . Col . Vernon , to fill the vacancy in the Council , and Col . Vernon being in attendance , the solemn ceremonies for the admission to the august dignity and office of a Sov . Grand Inspector General ivere proceeded with , and the 111 . Bro . Col . Vernon was placed in the vacant stall , and proclaimed a member of the Supreme Council of the 33 rd Degree for England and AVales , and the Dependencies of the British Crown . Other
business of importance was then transacted , after which the Council was closed in ample form . After the closing of the Council , the Sov . Grand Inspectors present entertained the Sov .
