CONSECRATION OF THE REMUERA CHAPTER , No . 1710 . On the 12 th July , a large and influential gathering of Uoy . il Arch Masons assembled at the Masonic Hall , Kemuera , to take part in the inauguration of the chapter attached to the lodge of that name . At eight o'clock the principals of the lately established Auckland Chapter ,
M . E . Comps . Skinner and Nelson ( M . E . Comp . Moss Levy taking the place ot M . E . Comp . Dr . Dawson , unavoidably absent ) opened a Chapter of Royal Arch Masonry . The procession then entered the chapter , which was subsequently duly consecrated , dedicated , and constituted by the M . E . Comp . the Rev . Wm . Telibs , P . Z ., who , as a member of the Supreme Grand Chapter of
England , acted as its deputy on the occasion . The exceedingly beautiful ritual included some well-executed music , of the execution of which Comp . Pooley had the conducting , and a well conceived and planned oration by M . E . Comp . the Rev . C . M . Nelson , who officiated as acting Chaplain . The duties ol the Director of Ceremonies were admirably performed by M . E . Comp . Wade , the acting Scribe E .
'The chapter having been duly formed ^ the principals were inducted and invested as follows -. M . E . Comp . W . Lodder , as M . E . Z . ; M . E . Comp . Captain Wildman ( as deputy of Comp . Moat ) , as H . ; and M . E . Comp . Cooper , as ] . The chapter n = xt elected Comp . Tebbs to be the first M . E . P . Z . ; a motion also being tabulated to confer upon him the honorary
membership of the chapter . The other officers having been elected and nominated respectively , were then duly inducted and invested : Comps . Wade , Scribe E . ; Kitt , Scribe N . ; La Roche , P . S . ; Wade , Treas . ; Pooley , acting Org . ; and Tonge , acting Janitor . There were 15 nominations for joining and exaltation . A vote of thanks
was passed to Mrs . Tebbs for the present of a veil embroidered in gold upon white satin ; also , a vote to those companions who had attended to assist in the ceremony . After the chapter had been closed , the companions sat down to an excellent supper , after which the usual toasts were enthusiastically drunk , the Janitor's toast bringing to a close a most enjoyable evening .

THE NEW FREEMASONS' HALL AT WARKWORTH .
We have been asked to print the following description o the above building , which is one of the best halls north of Auckland , and w ' ould be no discredit to any city in the colony , and eminently suited in every way for the purposes of Masonry for many years to come . The building has a
frontage of 30 ft . to Wharf-street , by a depth of Go ft ., with walls 14 ft . high from floor to springing of roof . Outside is a base projecting 3 in . from face of wall . The style of the building is of a composite character , the front having rusticated quoins at angles supporting an Ionic entablature , in the centre of which is a pedament flanked on cither side with blind balustrades and pedestals . The
outside pedestals are surmounted with aspl-ndid ball on each . In the centre of the pediment is a circular louvre , with a rectangular one at the backrable for ventilation . _ Round the front louvre is a ribbon with the device "Masonic Hall , " and date of erection formed with raised letters . The entrance is gained by a flight of three steps ( concrete finished off with Portland cement ) , on the landing of which is
erected an open porch , composed of two Corinthian columns , supporting an entibulature with sequrcntal pediment , enriched with modillions , & c On the either side of porch , the front of the building is pierced with a circular-headed window with pedimented hoods supported by carved trusses . Upon entering the building there is a vestibule ten feet by six feet six inches , with
an ante-room on either side , ten feet by ten feet six inches , with doors opening into the main hall . The size of the hall is forty-eight feet by twenty-eight feet six inches , and is lighted bv three circular-headed windows on the two sides . The height from floor to ceiling is nineteen , feet . The ceiling over the two ante-rooms and vestibule will form the floor for gallery , if required at any future time . The
roof is gabled . In the three alternate divisions of ceding , ventilators are formed of frets with Masonic devices . Round the rooms , vestibule , and hall , a dado , four feet high is formed . The interior of roof and also dado are varnished , and the rest of the walls and ventilators are relieved by being painted a bluish tint . The architraves and doors are grained , and the outside painted in imitation
of stone . The structure is of wood , covered outside with wrought rusticated boards , and the roof is shingled . The hall will be lighted by two chandeliers and eight reflecting side lights . The ante-rooms will also be lighted by reflecting side lights , and suitably furnished . The sittings are on
a new principle , convenient and comtortable . In the hall , over the door leading from the vestibule , is a very handsome clock , presented by Bro . Howden . The building was designed and superintended by Bro . W . H . Skinner , of Auckland . The entire cost paid to the contractor , including extras , was JC 5 C 4 .

was passed to Mrs . Tebbs for the present of a veil embroidered in gold upon white satin ; also , a vote to those companions who had attended to assist in the ceremony . After the chapter had been closed , the companions sat down to an excellent supper , after which the usual toasts were enthusiastically drunk , the Janitor's toast bringing to a close a most enjoyable evening .
The New Freemasons' Hall At Warkworth.
THE NEW FREEMASONS' HALL AT WARKWORTH .
We have been asked to print the following description o the above building , which is one of the best halls north of Auckland , and w ' ould be no discredit to any city in the colony , and eminently suited in every way for the purposes of Masonry for many years to come . The building has a
frontage of 30 ft . to Wharf-street , by a depth of Go ft ., with walls 14 ft . high from floor to springing of roof . Outside is a base projecting 3 in . from face of wall . The style of the building is of a composite character , the front having rusticated quoins at angles supporting an Ionic entablature , in the centre of which is a pedament flanked on cither side with blind balustrades and pedestals . The
outside pedestals are surmounted with aspl-ndid ball on each . In the centre of the pediment is a circular louvre , with a rectangular one at the backrable for ventilation . _ Round the front louvre is a ribbon with the device "Masonic Hall , " and date of erection formed with raised letters . The entrance is gained by a flight of three steps ( concrete finished off with Portland cement ) , on the landing of which is
erected an open porch , composed of two Corinthian columns , supporting an entibulature with sequrcntal pediment , enriched with modillions , & c On the either side of porch , the front of the building is pierced with a circular-headed window with pedimented hoods supported by carved trusses . Upon entering the building there is a vestibule ten feet by six feet six inches , with
an ante-room on either side , ten feet by ten feet six inches , with doors opening into the main hall . The size of the hall is forty-eight feet by twenty-eight feet six inches , and is lighted bv three circular-headed windows on the two sides . The height from floor to ceiling is nineteen , feet . The ceiling over the two ante-rooms and vestibule will form the floor for gallery , if required at any future time . The
roof is gabled . In the three alternate divisions of ceding , ventilators are formed of frets with Masonic devices . Round the rooms , vestibule , and hall , a dado , four feet high is formed . The interior of roof and also dado are varnished , and the rest of the walls and ventilators are relieved by being painted a bluish tint . The architraves and doors are grained , and the outside painted in imitation
of stone . The structure is of wood , covered outside with wrought rusticated boards , and the roof is shingled . The hall will be lighted by two chandeliers and eight reflecting side lights . The ante-rooms will also be lighted by reflecting side lights , and suitably furnished . The sittings are on
a new principle , convenient and comtortable . In the hall , over the door leading from the vestibule , is a very handsome clock , presented by Bro . Howden . The building was designed and superintended by Bro . W . H . Skinner , of Auckland . The entire cost paid to the contractor , including extras , was JC 5 C 4 .
