Institution tbis year . The first business to be transacted on this occasion Avas respecting motions made by Bro . Nelson , the Prov . G . Sec , and the Rev . A . F . A . Woodford , Prov . G . Chaplain , and ivhich having been deferred at the last meeting , ivere UOAV to be brought foi-AA-ard as one motion . The motion , as noiv put by Bro . Nelson , Avas to the effect that one brother from each Lodge in the AVest Riding should be appointed to form a committee to conduct matters in connexion with the four Masonic charities . Afc the same time it ivas understood that it should not be
necessary , nor even always desirable , that the person selected by each Lodge should be the AV . M . or P . M . thereof . The proposition having been seconded by Bro . AVoodford , Avas carried , Some petitions for relief w'ore read , and various sums granted on behalf of the applieauts . Bro . Dixou ivas re-elected as Treasurer , aud complimented by the D . Prov . G . M . for his zealous and indefatigable perseverance on behalf of the Provincial Grand Lodge . Bro . Dixon returned thanks , and expressed his Avillingness again to
undertake the duties of Treasurer . The thanks of the brethren ivere also voted to Bros . Shaiv and Batley , for their kindly undertaking the duties of anniversary Steii'ards . The D . Prov . G . M . read a list of the sums received for the Boys School , headed by the sum of one hundred pounds from the Prov . Grand Lodge of AVest Yorkshire ; the total sum subscribed in the province amounting to about four hundred pounds for that noble institution . Soon after the Earl of Mexborough had taken his seatthe neivlappointed
