and the three brothers above named were admitted and raised to the sublime degree of Master Mason . The ceremony was very ably , correctly , ancl effectively rendered by the AV . M ., ancl we are assured by a Prov . Grand Officer was present , ancl who has been an active Freemason nearly thirty years , thathe does not recollect a W . M . who ever did his work better than Bro . Henry Martyn Kennard did on Monday last . The lodwas then closed down to the first degree . One

cange didate for initiation at the next meeting was proposed , and the lodge was closed in harmony at 7 . 15 p . m . The brethren afterwards supped together at the Clarence Hotel , under tbe presidency of tbe AA . M . About forty were present . enthusiasm . Bro . Haskkins , AVaite , and others added greatly to the harmony of the meeting by their capital songs , and altogether a very pleasant evening was spent .

TUE AUSTRALIAN LODGE OF HARMONY , ( NO . 655 . ) —This lodge held its regular monthly meeting on AVednesday the 13 th ultimo . The Treasurer ' s quarterly accounts were read and passed ; one joining member was proposed for affiliation ; two Entered Apprentices were passed to the second degree ; a sum of money subscribed for a widow and two orphans ; some routine work got through , and copies of the Book of Constitutions distributed to such members as had not previouslgot them

Lodge closed about 10 o ' clock , when the brethren adjourned for a slight refreshment , and finally dispersed about 11 . 30 , till their next happy meeting .
