THE Office-bearers entertained the brethren to a banquet in fche Masonic Hall , Huntly , on Thursday , 26 th ult . During the evening , Bro . Mollis K . W ...... who occupied the chair , stated thafc one of the chief objects of fche meefciug was to do hononr to Bro . Whjte who leaves Huntly to fill the appointment of Sergeant-Major of the 4 th V . B . G . H . Ho referred , afc considerable length , to the loss

which the Lodge would sustain by tho departure of Sergfc . Why te , who , he said , had made many friends ontside , as well as inside . He concluded by wishing success to Bro . Whyte—a wish in which every one of the brethren most heartily and sincerely joined . Bro . Dr . Wilson , who is Captain of the Volunteers , also paid a very high

tribute to Bro . Whyte , who thanked Bros . Mellisand Wilson , and the rest of the members for tho kindly feelings they had shown and expressed during the timo he had been associated with them . Several of the brethren contributed songs , while others added to the

evening ' s enjoyment by relating stories and anecdotes . At the close a vote of thanks was recorded to Bro . Mollis for p ; esidiug , and a similar compliment was awarded to the Office-bearers by the brethren .

Ifc was left to the Lodgo Saltcoats and Ardrossan Sfc . John s , No . 320 ( S . C ) , to celebrate the birth-day of our great National Poet Barns , ou Wednesday , 25 th alt . Of course ifc is to be regretted that none but members of the Masonic Fraternity conld attend the meeting , because there are many in Ardrossan outside the Craffc who

wonld gladly have been present , bufc of course that could not be thought of . The meeting , which took the form of a supper , was a most successful one , and dne hononr was done to the memory of Bums in the course of the meeting . Many of the poet's songs were

admirably rendered while the programme proceeded , and the meeting was altogether a most successful one . Mr . James Clarke , Railway Hotel , did the purveying , tbe bill of fare included the ever-welcome haggis , without which no Burns mooting seems to be complete . —Ayrshire Weekly News .

A NEW Mark Master Masons' Lodge for tho Province of Cornwall was consecrated on Thursday , the 26 _ b nit ., afc Liskeard . This Lodge was opened in connection with the Sfc . Martin ' s Lodge , 510 , and has , therefore , been named the St . Martin ' s Mark Lodgo , No . 379 . The brethren who weio the founders of the Lodge and some visitors assembled on Thursday morning at the Liskeard Masonic

Hall . The St . Martin ' s Lodge-room had been fitted up very creditably as a Mark Lodge for the occasion , and a Lodge was there opened , and candidates for the Mark degree wero advanced . Bros . F . Crouch Pant G . D . of England presided as the W . M . Subsequently a Provincial Grand Lodgo was opened in the samo

room . Bro . Sir Charles B . Graves-Sawle , Bart ., P . G . M . M . M ., was nnable to be present through an attack of gonfc . Bro . T . Chirgwin D . P . G . M . M . M . presided . Le Feuvre P . G . H ,, and Comp . G . Felton Lancaster ( in the absence of Comp . Loveland ) as P . G . J . There was a largo attendance of the Companions from various Chapters throughout the Province . The minutes of the last annual

Grand Chapter were read by Comp . Edgar Goble , and confirmed . Comp . R . J . Rastrick , P . G . Treasurer , presented the accounts for the year , which showed that fifty guineas had been voted in tho year to the Royal Masonic

Benevolent Institution , and there was still a balance in hand . Comp . Rastrick was unanimously re-elected Treasurer , and was thanked by tho G . Superintendent for the zeal with which he had carried out his duties . It was

announced that Comp . J . E . Le Feuvre had accepted a Stewardship for the Centenary Festival of tho Royal Masonic Institution for Girls , aud ifc was unanimously

resolved to vote the sum of ten guineas from the Grand Chapter funds towards his list . The Grand Superintendent then appointed and invested the following as grand Officers
