for tho year ending 30 th November . It showed tbe income for the year to have been £ 4 , 013 , that there had been -64 , 561 ) entrants , and 13 new Charters granted to Lodges . The expenditure had amounted to . 62 , 815 , The funds on

30 fch November 1886 amounted to . 627 , 230 , and this year

to £ 27 , 872—an increase of £ 544 . The accounts of the fund of Masonic benevolence for the same period showed an income of £ 472 from Masonic fees and £ 219 from interest .

The sum of £ 516 had been voted as charity , and £ 24 given as casual charity . The funds at the close of the year stood afc £ 6 , 597 , as compared with £ 6 , 466 last year—an increase of £ 131 . A vidimus by the Grand Cashier

showed thab during the quarter ending 21 st January the income had been £ 1 , 373 , or £ 550 over the expenditure , and that there had been £ 1 , 200 entrants . £ 95 had been

voted to needy Masons or to widows of Masons . A report was submitted from Grand Committee , which stated that by direction of Grand Lodge they had appointed a subcommittee to visit the Aberdeen City Province , _ . nd

exercise therein all the powers of Grand Lodge . That Committee had spent two days in Aberdeen , and had . had the books of the Provincial Grand Lodge of the severa

Lodges in the Province submitted to them . They reported that the system of account-keeping in connection with the Provincial Grand Lodge was incompatible with a satisfactory administration of its general and benevolent funds ;

but that tne books of the various Lodges were correctly

kepfc , and the Committee believed that aU the Lodges were actuated by a desire to comply with every requirement of Grand Lodge . In their intercourse with the representatives

of the Lodges the Committee were very much impressed with the loyalty of feeling towards Grand Lodge existing among the Craft in Aberdeen City Province . Grand Lodge proceeded to the election of thirteen brethren to fill

vacancies in tho Grand Committee caused by retirements by rotation . There were 19 candidates for these vacancies , and the following was the result of the voting : —Brothers James Crichton 295 , Allen Mackenzie 285 , Dr , John Falconer 257 , Colonel P . Apologies for absenco were received from several brethren . The P . G . Secretary submitted his quarterly report , in which reference was made to somo matters of interest

concerning the Lodge-rooms of two of the Lodges iu the Province . It was further stated that the annual sermon to Provincial Grand Lodge will be preached iu tho Cathedral on an early Sunday in May . Brother Thomas Halket P . G .

Treasurer . submitted his financial statement , from which it appeared that the sum of £ 37 14 s had been granted to widows and families of deceased members of tho Crafr , and to brethren in poor and necessitous circumstances . The actiner P . G . Master consrratulated the brethren on tbe

satisfactory state of the benevolent fund , alluding to tbe increased grants , and expressing a hope that P . G . Lodgo might long be in a , position to give handsome grants . A bowling match committee , consisting of eight brethren , was

then appointed to take charge of tlie competition for the " Pearce " cup and other prizes . Attention having been called to the fact that , according to present regulations for the competitions , no Lodge can be represented unless by contributing two rinks , remit was made to the Com-

mittee to reconsider this point , with the suggestion that any Lodge in the Province contributing one rink should be allowed to enter the lists . The motion ou the subject was proposed , seconded , and agreed to , as follows : —

That the Committee of Provincial Grand Lodge now appointed take into consideration the advisability of allowing every Lodge in the Province to send forward one or more teams to compete for the cup presented by the K . W . P . G . M . "

Attention was called to the fact of a concert having been

held on last Sabbath evening , under the patronage of Lodge Dramatic , No . 571 , and after the matter had been fully discussed , the following resolution was unanimously adopted , namely : —

" That this Provincial Grand Lodge desires to place on record its condemnation of the action of Lodge Dramatic in giving its patronage to a concert held on the Sabbath , and expresses its strong disapproval of snch conduct , and a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the Lodge named . "

The Provincial Grand Lodge was afterwards closed in due and ancient form .

PROV . G . LODGE OF STIRLINGSHIRE . AT the Quarterly Communication of the Provincial Grand Lodge of Stirlingshire , held at Stirling , last week , Bro . the Right Hon . the Ear of Mar and Kellie presided , and among those present were Bros , the Rev .

ON Wednesday , 1 st inst & nt , the brethren met in the Lodge room , Auchtermuchty , to celebrate the anniversary of the immortal Burns . A large deputation from the Cnpar Lodge , No . 19 S . C , headed by their W . M . Bro . Nicol , honoured the proceedings . The brethren sat down to an excellent supper , provided by Bro . Pratt , Royal Hotel . The W . M ., Bro . Beveridge , occupied the

chair , and Bro . Nicol performed the duties of croupier . After the nsnal loyal and patriotic toasts were proposed and responded to , the W . M . proposed the memory of Burns , which was warmly honoured , and a long toast list was gone through , interspersed with song and sentiment . The Lodge closed in doe form , tbe meeting being a most enjoyable one .

PRINCE'S LODGE . No . 607 .

'T ^ HE brethren dined together on the 1 st insb ., in Messrs . Ferguson -I- ancl Forrester ' s , Buchanan Street , Glasgow , There was a large attendance . Bro . James Provan of Auchingillan , R . W . M ., occupied the cbair . After an excellent and vvell-served dinner the ordinary loyal and constitutional toasts wero proposed and heartily responded

to . In giving fche toast , " The Provincial Grand Lodge of Glasgow , ' Brother ° Dal . ymple Duncan S . G . D . said it was one of the oldest Provi-icif-l Grand Lodges in Scotland , and without doubt the most important , either as regards tbe number of brethren who ranged themselves nnder its banner , the nambsr of candidates yearly added

to the roll of member ., of Grand Lodge , or tho discipline ^ the Provir . ce , and the perfection to which the system of visitation and inspection had beon brought . The Provincial Gr _ ud Lodge exerc ' sed supervision over 33 Lodges , but ho was glad to say thafc on the following day a 3 k . _ would be added to the roll . Iu most of the

great towns of Scotland our brethren of tho Jewish persuasion had had Lodges for a considerable period , bnt hitherto thoy had not had a Lodgo of their own in Glasgow . Ona waa now to ba brought infc > existence under the name of the Montefiore Lodge , in compliment

fc . the great Jewish philanthropist . Tho toast was coupled with the nam . ! of Brother Graham , who responded . Brother ft . F . Shaw Stewart nexfc proposed " The Prince's Lodge , No . G 07 , " coupled with tho name of the Chairman . In the courso of hia reply the
