Our Weekly Budget.

The Russians , too , will very shortly have to follow his example , though for the present they aro enjoying the pleasure of pursuing the enemy who has so often repulsed their attacks . The worst news of all relates to the condition of the Russian troops in Bulgaria . It is said there are

some 18 , 000 to 20 , 000 sick , and the ground is such that in a veiy short time tho question of supplying them will tax all the resources of the empire , while the Turks are well p laced in this matter . As for Servia , she is very prudently holding her hand , though a convention with

Russia and Roumania has been signed . The Sultan , however , has taken the bull by the horns , and there is talk of a special emissary from the Porte being sent to Belgrade to demand explanations from Prince Milan as to these negotiations with the Czar and Prince Charles . The wonder is the Porto has exhibited so much patience under such provocation .

The regular Committee Meeting of the Royal Masonic Benevolent Institution was held on Wednesday , the 10 th inst ., at Freemasons' Hall , Great Queen-street , Bro . Colonel Creaton Y . P . in tho chair . Bro . James Terry read the minutes of the former meeting , which were confirmed . The

death of an annuitant was announced . The Warden s and Finance Committee ' s reports were read and adopted . After a vote of thanks to the chairman , the meeting was adjourned . Among those present were Bros . Benjamin Head , S . Rawson , J . Hogg , John Newton , H . J . Warren , J . A . Farnfield ,

A . H . Tattershall , William Stephens , James Brett , C . A . Cottebrune , J . M . Stedwell , J . M . Case , T . W . White , E . J . BaiTon , T . J . Sabine , J . Constable , W . Hilton , L . Stean , R . W . Stewart , C . Lacey , T . Cnbitt , 0 . F . Hogard , H . Massey , H . M . Levy , & c .

We are pleased at being able to record that on Wednesday Bro . Charles Daniel , W . M . No . 65 , paid to the account of the Indian Famine Relief Fund , at the Mansion House , the following : — Voted by the Lodge of Prosperity , No . 65 ¦ - - £ 550 Collected among the brethren present at last meeting ¦ 11 13 6

-J 21 G 18 G The above amount included £ 5 5 s from an Initiate , and £ 1 ls from the Treasurer , Bro . Goodwin .

On Wednesday last a meeting was held by a few brethren interested in the establishment of an Assciation for combining the voting powers of London brethren , and after some discussion it was decided to use every endeavour to

successfully inaugurate the project . Communications having reference to the scheme should , for the present , be addressed to " Alpha , " care of Editor , FREEMASON ' CHRONICLE OFFICE , 07 Barbican , London , E . C .

Bro . Ciprico , the celebrated American tragedian , has arrived in England , and will make his first appearance at the Surrey Theatre , on the 20 th inst ., in a tragedy entitled Fates and Furies .

We acknowledge with thanks the receipt of a specimen " Pan-Anglican Railway and Dog-cart Key , " manufactured by Messrs . Ellis and Co ., of the Eyre-street Works , Sheffield . People who are in the habit of travelling frequently will find it desirable to carry with them one of

these useful little companions . It possesses many advantages over the ordinary key . It is made of cast steel and plated with nickel silver . It weighs only one ounce , and will go easily into the waistcoat pocket . Lastly , its cost is only one shilling , for which extremely modest sum every one

whose business compels him to make long journeys by rail or road may purchase the Pan-Anglican Key , so that in the event of accident he may he able to extricate himself and fellow passengers from a dangerous position . For the

same reasons , we recommend it to those Railway officials who are necessarily furnished with keys , and we trust Messrs . Ellis and Co . may find their patent turn out as profitable as it deserves to do .

HOLT . OWAY ' S OlJfTJHi ^ T Ar . 'D Prr , is . —Hereditary discuses aro never moro likely to develop tlieir existence and to display thru- intensity thai : during tlie autumn months .
