St . Mark Lodge , No . 102 . —This Lodge held a meeting in their own Hall , Buchanan-street , Glasgow , on Monday , the 13 th inst , Bro . J . Mitchell I . P . M . in tho chair . A proposition was mado for the reception of a candidate , which having been unanimously
sustained , he was initiated by tho acting Master . The Lodge was then opened in the 2 nd degree , when three brethren were passed as Fellow Crafts by Bro . T . Halkel P . M ., and as they were leaving the city they were afterwards raised to tho sublime degree by Bro . Halkel .

Companions were admitted amongst whom were C . Crosier , E . Auckland , R . Brierly P . S ., J . W . Thorp , Lee Wilson , W . Woods , Thos . Tunsta ! , J . R . Yonng , W . Galloway , J . Jackson , Rose , Thos . Sutton , T . Pierpoint , and a visitor from Sonth Australia . The minntes were read and confirmed , and the auditors ' report presented and passed . The M . E . Z . announced that the next business was tho installation of the Principals
elect for the ensning year , and he had pleasure in calling npon their senior member as well as senior P . Z ., E . Comp . John Bowes , P . Z . P . P . G . S . B ., to perform the ceremony . The Comps . below the rank of installed first Principals then withdrew , and a Conclave was opened , and the newly elected Principals duly installed and invested in thoir
respective offices . The Conclave being closed , the Comps . were re-admitted , and the new Principals were greeted and proclaimed . The other officers were then invested , and after a cordial vote of thanks to the Installing Principal and a proposition , tho Chapter was closed , and the Comps . adjourned to refreshment , under the presidency of tho M . E . Z ., Comp . W . Sharp , and a very enjoyable evening was spent .

Tho Lodge was opened , and the minutes wero confirmed . A ballot was then taken for the admission of Mr . Charles Holland ( brother of W .
Holland P . M ., of the Surrey Theatre ) , who was dnly initiated into the Order . Thero was one passing , both the ceremonies being excellently given by the W . M . M . seconded , that votes of thanks—to bo recorded on tho minutes—be tendered to Bros . Annett , Pannell and Pilling for the valuable services Tendered by them as Secretaries to the St . James ' s Union Balls in aid of the Benevolent Fund , which won :
so successful . I his was carried . Bro . Annett thanked tho brethren , and said the sum of £ 00 had been realized by the first two balls , but the accounts of the last were net , yet made up . pleasing to hear of the enthusiastic reception he had received in India , and he hoped that with tho sanction of Grand Lodge a Masonic reception worthy of our Order would be accorded him . The acting W . M . in proposing the toast of the newly initiated , said that Masonry did not consist of the simple ritual , its aim was to do good to onr fellow creatures . Masonry was now in the ascendant , and ho was proud to say large amounts were given to tho Charities . The new
brethren bring with them good recommendations , and they were pleased to havo them among them . Bros . Forster and Woodlow returned thanks . Bro . W . C . Parsons I . P . M . then said he had much pleasure in proposing the health of tho acting W . M ., Bro . Treas ., on his retirement from the ofRco of Treasurer to the Lodge , which he has hold for a period of nearly 20
years . Tho funds for the purchase of tho testimonial have been raised chiefly by subscription from the Brethren of the Lodge , but tho subscribers included the Prov . Grand Master , Bro . Robert J .
