ECCLESTON LODGE , No . 1024 . THE installation meeting of this Lodge wis held on Wednesday , the 15 th inst ., at tho Criterion , Picadilly . Bros . Taylor W . M ., Johnson Senior Warden , Bottle Junior Warden , Beckham Secretary , Southard S . D ., Johnstone J . D ., Moorman Inner Gnard , Egerton Organist ; P . M . ' s Powell , Vincent , Peacock , Flately , Fisher and MoLeod . Lodge was opened , and the minutes were con . firmed . The report of the Audit Committee was read and adopted .

Bro . Saokman was passed . A Board of Installed Masters was opened , and Bro . Bottle J . W . and W . M . elect was prosented to the Lodge , and in the presence of 14 brethren , was duly installed by the retiring W . M . Tho W . M . invested the following Officers : —Bros . Tayler I . P . M . ( who was specially presented with a very elegant P . M . ' s collar and silver jewel , he being the first initiate of the Lodge , who

occnpied the position of W . M . ) , Coulthard S . W ., Johnstone J . W ., Isaacs Treasurer ( he being unable to attend through a domestic bereavement , Bro . Fisher P . M . acted in his absence ) , Moorman S . D ., Ray J . D ., Cooper I . G ., Egerton Organist , Vincent P . M . Director of Ceremonies , Weston A . D . C , Leo and Bignold Stewards . C . Thomas Tyler . The W . M . at once showed the brethren that they

had selected one to occupy the chair who could do the work well , he having to initiate Messrs . Chynowoth and Holland . The Lodge was afterwards closed , aud tho brethren adjourned to banquet . Grace having been said , the W . M . in brief terms proposed the usual Loyal toasts . Bro . Taylor followed ; it was a great privilege and pleasure to him to propose the health of the W . M ., who would be a

credit to the Lodge . He was sure that he wonld havo the support of every brother and OSiceva . The toast was received with great enthusiasm . The W . M ., in roply , said he felt it a great honour to be placed in the chair a year before his time , but the S . W ., Bro . Johnson , had been precluded by his business arrangements from accepting the position . The W . M . then proposed tho toast of the

Initiates , whom ho was sure would be a credit to his Lodge . Bros . Holland and Chynoweth responded , and then the toast of the I . P . M ., and the rest of the P . M . 's was given . The W . M . had already had the honour of presenting the I . P . M . with a P . M . collar and jewel , aud and now had a greater pleasure in placing on his breast the P . M . jewel of the Lodge . He would hand it down to posterity as a

memento of the respect entertained for him by the Lodge . Bro . Taylor thanked the brethren and the W . M . for the valuable gifts they had presented to him ; he hoped he had done his work to their satisfaction , for that had been his great aim . Bro . MoLoed followed . Ho regretted the absence of Bros . Hunt and Jones . The W . M . proposed tbe toast of the Visitors , to which Bros . Ray 1257 , Brindley

1664 , Lamer 858 , and Goffiiu 1572 severally responded . The W . M ., in proposing the toast of the Officers , said the Lodge could have no better . Bros . FIDELITY LODGE , No . 445 . THE installation meeting of this Lodge took place on 3 rd October , at the Talbot Hotel , Towcester , when there was a good attendance of member and visiting brethren . Bro . William H . Packer , the W . M ., presided , and after the usual business , Bro . J . C Jones Past Prov . G . J . W . opened the Lodge as a Board of Installed Masters , and then proceeded to instal Brother Thomas Oldham as W . M . for the

ensuing year . The ceremony was performed in such an admirable manner that Brother G . Osborn P . M . P . P . G . S . W . proposed that the thanks of the Lodge to Bro . Jones be recorded on the minutes . This was doubly acceptable to the brethren a 3 Bro . Osborn is the senior Mason in the Province . Brother Oldham having been dnly installed , then proceeded to appoint aud invest tho following Officers for the

M . of tbe Fidelity Lodgo aud referred to the past career of tho Lodge . The

W . M . ( Bro . 1 . Oldham ) in reply , expressed his intention to do his utmost during the coming year , to promote the prosperity of Masonry in general , and the Fidelity Lodge in particular . Osborn m responding , alluded to his long connection with tho Craft in the Province , and particularly to tho Fidelity Lod g " , and then proposed tho Masonio Charities . Bro . Atkins ( who was Proviuoial Steward for the Boys' School last year ) thanked the brethren for the very generous support they had given to his Stewardship . Bro . Whitton

proposed tho Visiting brethren in very appropriate terms , to which Bro . Green replied in his nsual hearty and happy manner . The following brethren also r sponded : —Bros . EBORACUM LODGE , No . 1611 . 4 VERY largely attended meeting of this Lodge was held on MX . Monday last . There were present Bros . Blenkin W . M ., Milner Bart ., M . P ., S . W ., Turner J . W ., Baltnford P . M . Treas ., Kay Sec , Brown S . D ., Chapman J . D ., Dalton I . G . ; P . M . ' s Whytehead , Cum . herland , Simpson , Seller , Padet , Millington , and many other brethren , with visitors from Lodges 236 , 734 , 1991 , & o . The minntes were read , aud tho Treasurer ' s balance-sheet , which had been audited on

tho previous Friday , was formally adopted . Brother Hall was passed to tho second degreo . A ballot was taken for the W . M ., and the unanimous vote of the Lodge fell upon the S . W ., Bro . Sir Milner , who thanked the brethren for the marks of their confidence . Bro . Baltnford was again re-elected Treasurer . Bro . Padel presented to the Lodge the second and third volumes of Gould's " History of

Masonry , " and was accorded a cordial vote of thanks . Brother Cumberland said that ho should like to more that the Lodge do send a letter of congratulation to Brother Sir Moses Montifiore on his approaching hundredth birthday . They all knew the great value of Sir Mcses's services to the country of his adoption , and he thought , as Masons , they should show their sense of

this as well as their kindly feeliugs . He had spoken to Brother Whytehead on the matter , and the latter had drafted a short address , which'he would ask him to read . Bro . Whytehead then read a letter of congratulation addressed to Sir Moses Montefiore , and suitable to be engrossed on parchment . Bro . Cumberland ' s motion was

seconded by Bro . Brown and was carried unanimously . Bro . Whytehead proposed as a joiniug member Bro . the Rev . R . Blakeney vicar of Bishopthorpe , of the Londesborongh Lodge , No . 734 , and he was seconded by Bro . Cumberland . After the close of the Lodge , the brethren gathered ronud tbe social board and the customary toasts were given .

Presentation To Bro. John Maclean.

PRESENTATION TO BRO . JOHN MACLEAN .

EARLY this week a handsome testimonial was presented to Bro . John Maclean , the actor , by the members of the Logic Club of Instruction . The testimonial took the form of a beautifully illuminated vellum , framed and glazed , and a mantle olock and pair of vases , and was presented in recognition of Bro . Maclean ' s services as Preceptor of the Club .

The installation meeting of the Royal Hanover Lodge , No . 1777 , will take place afc the Albany Hotel , Twickenham , on Saturday , the 25 th instant , and not at the Town Hall , when Bro . Walter S . Dankley will be installed W . M .

The Royal College of Surgeons of England will shortly be called upon to consider the best means of applying , for the professional and public good , and the honour and usefulness of the College , the munificent bequest of Bro . Sir Erasmas Wilson , which will probably ultimately exceed in value £ 200 , 000 .

The Lodge La France , the membership of which is to be confined to brethren of French nationality , will he consecrated at the Cafe Royal , Regent Street , on Monday , the 20 th inst ., by Col . Shadwell H . Clerke G . Sec . Bros . E . H . Theillay is the W . M . designate , E . Monteuuis S . W . and H . Bue J . W .

A Convocation of the North London Chapter of Improvement was held on Thursday , 16 th inst ., at the Alwyne Castle Tavern , St . PaulVroad , Canonbury . Comps . Gregory M . E . Z ., Radcliffe H ., Carter J ., Sheffield S . E ., G . W . Knight S . N ., Phillips P . S . Comp . Captain

Nicols delivered a lecture on the Royal Arch in a very impressive manner . There was a good muster of Royal Arch Masons aud the ceremonies and lecture were listened to by all present with great interest . It is the intention of this Chapter of Improvement to have a series of lectures for the edification of Royal Arch Masons .
