Newell P . G . Tylev Berks and Bucks Tyler . Bro . Bubb , in investing the brethren , addressed a few pertinent remarks to each , which were graciously listened to by all present . The warm congratulations of all assembled wero now bestowed on Bro . Parsons for the ability ho had displayed in conducting tho ceremony . Tho newly installed W . M . then raised Bros . Rogers and Pooley to the

3 rd degree . The report of tho Audit Committee was road and adopted , it showed a balance in favour of tho Lodge of £ 122 6 s lid . Bro . H . H . Hodges P . M . proposed tho sum of ton guineas be voted to one of the Masonio Charities ; this was seconded by Bro . Baker , and tho W . M . announced that it was hia intention to act as Steward for the Royal Masonic Benevolent Institution at tho next Anniversary

Festival , on tho 13 th February 1877 . Tho amount as above was therefore placed on his list Bro . Hodges then stated that the R . W . Bro . Brownrigg having resigned , tho Deputy Grand Mastership of the Province , the R . W . Prov . G . M . Sir Daniel Gooch had appointed the Venerable Fercival Puzey-Cnst , Archdeacon of Buckingham , to that office . Ho also announced the resignation of Bro . Biggs , Prov . G . Sec ,

and stated ( 1 at a committee was being formed for the purpose of presenting that brother with a testimonial . The W . M . was appointed a member of the committee , and a sum of 5 guineas was voted from the funds of tho Lodge towards the fund . Bro . Pinto Leite I . P . M . proposed , and Bro . Dr . Webb seconded , that ton gunieas be granted by the Lodgo to the Mansion House Indian Relief Fund . Bro . Pinto Leite

signified his intention to act as Steward at the next Festival of the Boys' School . The Lodge was then closed until May next , after which tho brethren adjourned to an excellent banquet , provided by Bro . Deacon . The usual Loyal and Masonio toasts were given . In proposing the health of tho R . W . Provincial Grand Master , Sir Daniel Gooch , the W . W . said it was very gratifying to havo so

distinguished a brother at their head in the Province . Sir Daniel was respected everywhere , and the Lodges were indebted to him for many acts of kindness . The St . John ' s Lodge had had the honour of being represented in Prov . Grand Lodge by one of its members , he referred to their worthy Secretary Bro . Hodges P . P . G . W . Bro . Hodges said he had often responded to this toast , bnt he never

did so with greater pleasure than on this occasion . Every one in the Province knew and fully appreciated the kindness of tho Provincial Grand Master . Through his thoughtful care special trains have frequently been provided for members of the Craft , and that day a saloon carriage had been provided , thus enabling the brethren to perform their Masonic duties . He hoped at the next meeting of Prov . Grand

Lodge to see the attendance of many members of their Lodge . Bro . Leite I . P . M . then rose to propose the health of their recently-installed and well-respeoted W . M . They had seen to-day Bro . Bnbb ' s excellent working . On several occasions when he ( the I . P . M . ) was suffer , ing from indisposition , and unable to attend , Bro . Bubb had done the duties to their satisfaction . He trusted he would remain among them

for many years . The W . M . thanked Bro . Pinto Leite for his kind expressions , and the brethren for the hearty manner they had received the toast . He came unexpectedly among them , having only been a member of tho Lodge two years ; but he felt it an especial honour that day to be their W . M . However , he would do all in his power to promote the interests of the Lodge , also of the

Province , and hoped that at a future time he might be invested with P . G . honours . He then proposed the toast of the I . P . M ., Bro . Pinto Leito , who during his occupation of the chair had done all in his power for the comfort of the Lodge . When he entered it , there wero but very few members ; he had introduced good and true brethren , and had enabled the Lodge to become a great success . Bro . Bubb

then said he could not find a better opportunity than the present to present him with a Past Master ' s jewel , which had been voted unanimously by the members as a mark of esteem , and of the high estimation in which he was held by every brother in the Lodge . The I . P . M . thanked the W . M . for the kind manner in which he had spoken of him ; what he had done was a labour of love . The jewel

the brethren had presented him with ho should always look on with pride and satisfaction . Tho W . M . then gave the health of the installing Master , Bro . W . C . Parsons . In his own Lodge , No . 180 , ho had filled the position of W . M . with great credit ; they had witnessed how ably Bro . Parsons had installed him that day ; he would couple with tho toast tho health of the Visitors . After

replies from Bros . Parsons and Reed , the W . M . proposed the toast of the J . W . and Treas . Bro . Sharpe , and also their indefatigable Sec . Bro . H . H . Hodges '; both these brethren have very onerous duties , but they carry them out every way successfully . This was evidenced by the satisfactory balance sheet presented that day . After this had been acknowledged , the W . M . gavo the Officers of tho

Lodgo . Bro . Foulger , the S . W ., is a P . M . of two influential Lodges , and he ( tho W . M . ) was proud to havo his co-operation . The other Officers selected he hoped would give satisfaction , and would eventually occupy the chair . Bro . Foulger was pleased again to occupy the position of S . W . ; if the brethren elected him next year ho would only be too happy to accept office ; when ho first joined the Lodge it was for the purpose of assisting the brethren ,

now they did not require assistance ; however , he should always feel it an honour to be among them , he was sure these were tho sentiments of his brother officers . Tho Tyler's toast now brought the meeting to an end . During the proceedings some excellent songs were rendered by Bros . Pinto Leite , Innes , and Baker ; the brethren returned to town after passing a very agreeable day . The Visitors were Bros . Reed P . M . 733 , Hancock J . W . 1687 , Lakin 180 , Farwig J . W . 180 , and H . M . Levy P . M . 188 .

There wero present Bros , Crouch W . M ., Smith S . W ., A . Poscner J . W ., Fenner Preceptor , Townsend Sec , Hino S . D ., Tatten J . D ., Lane I . G . ; also Bros . Camp , boll , Bolton , Simmonds , Pearcy , & o . The usual preliminaries being

duly observed , the minutes wore read and confirmed . Bro . Townsend answered the questions and was entrusted . Lodge was opened in the second degree , and the ceremony of passing rehearsed by the W . M . in a very excellent manner , Bro . Townsend being candidate . Bro . Fenner worked the first : section of the lecture , assisted by tho brethren . Lodge resumed to first degree , when tho fourth section of

the lecture was worked by Bro . Fenner , assisted by the brethren . Bro . A . Posener , of Kent Lodge , No . 15 , waa elected a member . On Friday , the 19 th inst . tBros . A . W . Fonner W . M ., A . Posener jun . S . W ., Kent J . W ., Simmonds S . D ., Smith J . D ., Lane I . G ., Townsend Secretary ; also Bros . answered the questions and was entrusted . Lodge opened to third degree , and the W . M . rehearsed the ceremony of raising Bro . Trewin . nard acting candidate . The first section of the lecture was worked by the W . M ., assisted by the brethren . On Lodge being resumed to first degree , Bros . Trewinnard S . W . Kingsland Lodge 1693 , and Posener sen ., of Kent Lodge No . 15 , were unanimously elected members . Bro . Posener jun . will preside at tho next meeting .

The Earl of Zetland Lodge , No . 1364 . —The first meeting since the recess was held on Saturday , tho 20 th inst ., at the Old Town Hall , Mare-street , Hackney . Present—Bros . Ernest Wright W . M ., Maples S . W ., Gompertz J . W ., R . A . Wright P . M . Treasurer , J . L . Fysh P . M . Secretary , Fieldwiok S . D ., A . F . Lay J . D ., Cockett I . G . ; Past Masters Bristo and Low , and a largo number of the

brethren of the Lodge and visitors . The Lodgo was opened in due form , and the minutes of the last meeting were read and confirmed . Bro . Geeves was raised to the third degree ; Mr . Thomas Stokes was initiated into the Order . The report of the Audit Committee was read and adopted . The ballot was then taken for W . M . for the ensuing year ; it proved unanimously in favour of Bro . Maples tho S . W ., who thanked the brethren for the honour they had conferred

upon him , and assured them nothing should be wanting on his part to mako his year of office a successful one . The ballot was then taken for Treasurer , and Bro . R . A . Wright P . M . was re-elected . Bros . B . Humphrey , W . Green and Fitzgerald were appointed tho Banqueting Committee . The installation meeting will take place on Saturday , 17 th November , at Guildhall Tavern . The prosperous financial condition of the Lodge must be a source of intense gratification to the members .

Great City Lodge of Instruction , No . 1426 . —Hold its usual weekly meeting on Thursday , 25 th October , at Masons' Hall Tavern , E . G ., at 6 . 30 p . m . Present—Bros . Goodman W . M ., Bisset S . W ., G . W . Saul J . W ., Blackie Sec , Harper S . D ., Gladwell J . D ., Freeman I . G ., Beeton , Cumner , & c . The Lodgo was opened in the first degree , and the minutes of last meeting read and confirmed . Bro . Cumner having offered himself as candidate , the ceremony of

The first section of the lecture was worked by the W . M ., assisted by the brethren . On Lodge being resumed to first degree , Bros . Trewinnard S . W . Kingsland Lodge 1693 , and Posener sen ., of Kent Lodge No . 15 , were unanimously elected members . Bro . Posener jun . will preside at tho next meeting .

The Earl of Zetland Lodge , No . 1364 . —The first meeting since the recess was held on Saturday , tho 20 th inst ., at the Old Town Hall , Mare-street , Hackney . Present—Bros . Ernest Wright W . M ., Maples S . W ., Gompertz J . W ., R . A . Wright P . M . Treasurer , J . L . Fysh P . M . Secretary , Fieldwiok S . D ., A . F . Lay J . D ., Cockett I . G . ; Past Masters Bristo and Low , and a largo number of the

brethren of the Lodge and visitors . The Lodgo was opened in due form , and the minutes of the last meeting were read and confirmed . Bro . Geeves was raised to the third degree ; Mr . Thomas Stokes was initiated into the Order . The report of the Audit Committee was read and adopted . The ballot was then taken for W . M . for the ensuing year ; it proved unanimously in favour of Bro . Maples tho S . W ., who thanked the brethren for the honour they had conferred

upon him , and assured them nothing should be wanting on his part to mako his year of office a successful one . The ballot was then taken for Treasurer , and Bro . R . A . Wright P . M . was re-elected . Bros . B . Humphrey , W . Green and Fitzgerald were appointed tho Banqueting Committee . The installation meeting will take place on Saturday , 17 th November , at Guildhall Tavern . The prosperous financial condition of the Lodge must be a source of intense gratification to the members .

Great City Lodge of Instruction , No . 1426 . —Hold its usual weekly meeting on Thursday , 25 th October , at Masons' Hall Tavern , E . G ., at 6 . 30 p . m . Present—Bros . Goodman W . M ., Bisset S . W ., G . W . Saul J . W ., Blackie Sec , Harper S . D ., Gladwell J . D ., Freeman I . G ., Beeton , Cumner , & c . The Lodgo was opened in the first degree , and the minutes of last meeting read and confirmed . Bro . Cumner having offered himself as candidate , the ceremony of

initiation was rehearsed . The Lodge was opened in the second degree , and resumed to the first . Bro . Cumner was examined and entrusted . The Lodgo was then resumed to the second degreo , » nd the ceremony of passing rehearsed . Tho second and third sections of the lecture were worked . The Lodge was closed in the second degree . Bro . ] Bisset was elected W . M . for ensuing week . Notico was given that the Fifteen Sections would be worked in this Lodge on Thursday , 29 th November . The Lodge was closed in due form .
