Refreshment of a substantial and agreeable nature followed labour , and the new caterer to the chapter is to be congratulated upon the manner in which he furnished the repast . "The Health of the M . E . Z . " was duly proposed after the Royal and official toasts had been duly honoured . The proposer of the toast was exceedingly complimentary in his remarks . He said that the M . E . Z . had frequently given up professional engagements in order to be present at the meetings of the Mozart , an example of zeal that might be copied with advantage by other members of No . 1929 . He had also introduced several joining members , and it was through no fault of his that exaltees had not been forthcoming .
The First Principal , in reply , said that from the first moment that he had entered the chapter his sympathies had been with those old members who had loyally endeavoured to prevent the chapter from becoming extinct . It was a great pity that its officers were not so prosperous as they might be , but it wis satisfactory to know that the chapter was slowly progressing . He then gave " The M . E . Z ., H ., and J . elect , " coupled with the name of Comp . Cain , who duly acknowledged the compliment on behalf of himself and absent colleagues ( Comps . Major Richardson and White ) .
