The I . P . M . briefly proposed the toast of ' The VV . M ., " saying that no words of his could add to the lustre of Bro . Harper . They had seen how admirably he had discharged the duties of S . VV ., and felt sure that he would as well discharge the duties of the hi g h office to which he had that day attained . The W . M ., in response , thanked the brethren for their hearty reception of the toast , and above all for placing him in his present proud position as Master of the Borouirh of Greenwich Lodpe . When he was decorated with his Crimean medal he

thought it the proudest moment cf his life , and again when he joined the Craft at the Cape of Good Hope , but he must say they were nut such proud moments as he felt on being installed into the chair of K . S . that day . He should do his best to follow in the footsteps of his predecessors , and nothing should be wanting on his part to sustain the honour of tbe lodge and promote the happiness oi its members .

The VV . M . then presented Bros . Gore , P . M . and Past Treas ., and Burney , I . P . M ., with past jewels of their rank . Bro . Gore had for the last four years been their Treasurer , and , as they knew , Bro . Burney was their W . M . during the year just concluded . The VV . M . spoke highly cf their services , and as he pinned the jewels on the breasts of the recipients , wished them long life to wear the tokens of the respect and gratitude of the brethren of the lodge .

Bro . Gore said he sincerely thanked the brethren for the very handsome jewel just presented to him , although he did not think he deserved it . It would be prized by him as long as he lived . Bro . Burney , in response , said he had been more than repaid for any services he had rendered by thtir kindness to him , and alter referring to the past year as a very successful one , spoke highly of the progress made in their Charity Benevolent Association , much of the credit of which he gave to Bro . Oakley , P . M ., and Secretary of the Association , and concluded by thanking them for the handsome jewel just presented to him by the VV . M .

Bro . Oakley proposed the toast ot "The Charities , " and gave a most interesting account of their Association since its foundation a few years ago . He coupled ^ the toast with the names of Bros . IT . Roberts and Milbourne , who he said were two of the oldest supporters of the Charities in the district . Bros . Roberts and Milbourne responded , the former avowing that if their Grand

Master wanted £ ioo , coo for the Charities he could get it . The toasts of " The Installing Officer , " "The Past Masters , " "The Initiates , " "The Visitors , " and "The Officers " were all honoured and respectively responded to , and then the proceedings , which had been interspersed with some excellent singing and reciting , was brought to a conclusion by the Tyler ' s toast .
