Marin ( amis de l'humanite ) , followed by almost every visitor present , all expressing themselves highly gratified with the hospitality afforded to them by this old and influential lodge . Thc W . M ., in proposing the health of the Past Masters , adverted to thc loss the lodge had sustained by the decease of Bro . Henry Gates , an old member and P . M ., in the most appropriate and feeling language ;
this was also touched upon by Bros . Goodyer and Marsh , the only P . M . ' s present . Bro . Gates was much respected by all the members , who evinced their respect and esteem by wearing Masonic mourning . Several excellent songs from Bros . Harvey , Abbott , Harris , Ohren , and others much enhanced the evening ' s enjoyment , and which was , as is usual in this lodge , most pleasantly and satisfactorily spent . The Tyler ' s toast brought the evening to a close at not a late hour .
Zetland Lodge , No . 511 . —The election meeting of this prosperous lodge was held at Anderton ' s Hotel , Fleetstreet , on Wednesday , the 5 th inst . The lodge was opened by Uro . Copus , P . M . Two brethren were passed to the second degree , and one brother raised to thc third degree . Uro . Davy , AV . M ., initiated three gentlemen into the mysteries and privileges of ancient Freemasonry .
The ballot for AVorshipful Master for the ensuing year was unanimous in favour of Bro . Birch , S . AV ., and by ballot Uro . Uarfield , P . M ., was unanimously reelected Treasurer . Uro . W . Radford , Tyler , by a show of hands was re-elected . Thc Auditors were appointed . One poor brother ( a foreigner ) had one guinea given him from the Charily Fund , and other help from the members
to assist him on his " safe return to his native country . " Although two names were left on the paper of gentlemen anxious for initiation , Ihe names of four other gentlemen were given in to ihe AV . M ., and by unanimous votes of the members all were accepted as propositions worthy to appear on the next lodge summonses that were about to be issued . The lodge was closed . Present besides those

Amongst a distinguished set of visitors , very many hailing from foreign shores , we noticed llros . K . Walters , W . Belgrave Lodge , No . 749 . —On AVednesday evening the above lodge met again for the season at Anderton's Hotel , and the AV . M ., Bro . George Pymm , was in his place on the occasion to preside over the brethren . The work done on the occasion was of no easy character , as it
occupied the president from half-past four to eight o clock . Messrs . T . Arno , of Hoxton , A . F . Marchment , of Ftilham , R . E . Booker , of 4 8 , Lincoln ' s-inn-fields , and AVm . was re-elected Treasurer , and Bro . J . Daly . T . Several letters on the business of the lodge were read by the Secretary , Bro . Garrod , and the election of the Audit Committee , which was then proceeded with , resulted in the nomination of Bros . Herbert and Harper as lay members of the lodge to serve as committeemen . The 26 th instant , at Anderton ' s , at 6 . 30 p . m ., was named as the
hour of meeting . Bro . Bourne , I . P . M ., proposed , Bro . Ough seconded , and the lodge unanimously voted , a P . M . 's jewel to Bro . Pymm , as a testimony of the appreciation in which the lodge held his admirable mastership during the past year . The lodge was then closed , and the brethren adjourned to a banquet which was most creditable to Bros . Clemow , and Uro . Smith , their
manager , and the loyal and Masonic toasts , which Masons never forget , were duly given and honoured . Bro . Bourne proposed the AV . M . ' s health as W . M . for the last time , and alluded to his excellent working and the honour he had brought to the lodge . Bro . Hester , the W . M .-elect , by his two speeches in returning thanks for his election in lodge , and for his health at the table , gave promise of
some eloquent speeches to be got from him when he is installed , and with mutual good feelings between the different members , the brethren adjourned till the second AVednesday in November . The P . At four o ' clock precisely the lodge was opened by Bro . J . AV . Avery , W . M ., supported by his officers , Bros . J . Green , S . W . ; II . Bartlett , J . W . ; Dr . Dixon , P . M ., Treas . ;

The minutes of the previous meeting were read and unanimously confirmed . Thc report of the Audit Committee , showing that there was a good balance in thc hands of the Treas .-elect , was read and unanimously received , and ballots

Each of those candidates being present , were introduced separately , and in a most impressive and solemn manner initiated into Ancient Freemasonry . M . for the next year ; Bro . Froud
was re-elected Treasurer , and Bro . J . Daly . T . Several letters on the business of the lodge were read by the Secretary , Bro . Garrod , and the election of the Audit Committee , which was then proceeded with , resulted in the nomination of Bros . Herbert and Harper as lay members of the lodge to serve as committeemen . The 26 th instant , at Anderton ' s , at 6 . 30 p . m ., was named as the
hour of meeting . Bro . Bourne , I . P . M ., proposed , Bro . Ough seconded , and the lodge unanimously voted , a P . M . 's jewel to Bro . Pymm , as a testimony of the appreciation in which the lodge held his admirable mastership during the past year . The lodge was then closed , and the brethren adjourned to a banquet which was most creditable to Bros . Clemow , and Uro . Smith , their
manager , and the loyal and Masonic toasts , which Masons never forget , were duly given and honoured . Bro . Bourne proposed the AV . M . ' s health as W . M . for the last time , and alluded to his excellent working and the honour he had brought to the lodge . Bro . Hester , the W . M .-elect , by his two speeches in returning thanks for his election in lodge , and for his health at the table , gave promise of
some eloquent speeches to be got from him when he is installed , and with mutual good feelings between the different members , the brethren adjourned till the second AVednesday in November . The P . Each of those candidates being present , were introduced separately , and in a most impressive and solemn manner initiated into Ancient Freemasonry .
