A meeting of the Prov . Grand Mark Lodge of West Yorkshire was held on Friday , ioth inst ., at the Town Hall , Ripon , for the purpose of consecrating the above lodge . The Prov . The Provincial Grand Lodge being closed , the Prince Leopold Lodge , No . 352 , was duly opened , and VV . Bro . W . C . Lukis , P . M ., Dep . Prov . G . M . West Yorks ., was installed as the first Master of the lodge , who appointed and invested his officers . Nine propositions for advancement of Master Masons to the Mark Degree were made , and the lodge was duly closed , after having passed a hearty vote of thanks to Bro . Dr . Smythe for his address .
The brethren then proceeded to the Unicorn Hotel , where Bro . Collinson prepared for them an excellent tea , and a pleasant evening was spent ,

Provincial Grand Lodge was then opened in form , when the minutes of the last annual Provincial Grand Lodge , held last September at Maryport , under the banner of the Perseverance Lodge , were read and confirmed . Next upon the agenda were the annual dues and fees of honour from the various lodges , and the present Provincial Grand Officers , All the lodges were represented , with the exceptions of 812 , App leby ; 1073 , Kessvick ; I 074 , Kirkby-Lonsdale ; and 1267 , Egremont .
Bro . MCKAY , P . G . S ., then called the attention of the members present to the great neglect that still existed by the officers of the lodges in the province in not being more prompt in making the annual returns of their members , and said although two months were allowed , yet several lodges failed to comply with the bye-laws . And there was another matter that required the serious attention of every brother of the province who held votes in any of the Masonic Institutions , which was confirmed by a vote some years ago in Provincial Grand Lodge , namely , " That all voting papers were to be signed and forwarded to the Provincial Grand Secretary , " for a

united action , and the good and welfare of the province in general . Q if brethren will not only part with their own votes , but collect others , antl without any due consideration for the svants of the province , then no succe <; could be attained , and it was the duty of all to carefully guard against that in the future , and he hoped that the voting papers would alsvays be sent to him as early as possible .
The provincial statement of accounts were next read and passed , shosving a good balance to the credit of the province . On the motion of Bro . COLLIN , acting Prov . Grand Master , the sum of 10 guineas was voted to the Benevolent Institution . It svas then moved as a recommendation by Bro . J . BLACK , P . M . i 0 o *> P . G . D . C , supported by Bro . J . J . ROBINSON , P . M . 872 , P . P . G . S . D ., Q the next annual Provincial Grand Lodge to be held at Cockermouth . under the banner of Skiddaw Lodge .
Bro . J . PATERSON , W . M . 962 , P . G . Stwd ., next moved , and Bro . J . THOMPSON , S . W ., supported the motion , for Provincial Grand Lodo- to assemble at Workington , under the banner of the Sun and Sector Lodge in June or July next , and proceed to lay the foundation-stone of a nesv infirmary with full Masonic honours . Bro . MCKAY , P . G . S ., promised that the said petitions should be for . warded to the Provincial Grand Master for approval .
Provincial Grand Lodge was then closed in form , and the brethren sub . sequently dined at the County Hotel , when the usual loyal and Masonic toasts were duly honoured .

Bro . J . PATERSON , W . M . 962 , P . G . Stwd ., next moved , and Bro . J . THOMPSON , S . W ., supported the motion , for Provincial Grand Lodo- to assemble at Workington , under the banner of the Sun and Sector Lodge in June or July next , and proceed to lay the foundation-stone of a nesv infirmary with full Masonic honours . Bro . MCKAY , P . G . S ., promised that the said petitions should be for . warded to the Provincial Grand Master for approval .
Provincial Grand Lodge was then closed in form , and the brethren sub . sequently dined at the County Hotel , when the usual loyal and Masonic toasts were duly honoured .
