PROPOSED NORTHERN COUNTIES' LODGE . To the Editor of the " Freemason . Will you very kindl y say if there is any foundation for these statements , and , if so , svho are the moving spirits in the matter ? I am prepared to join such a lodge at once , and to propose several members . Enclosing my card , I am , Yours fraternally , A LANCASHIRE FREEMASON .

Hull , April 14 th . MASONIC POETRY . . To the Editor of the " Freemason . " Dear Sir and Brother , I quite concur svith my able Bro . Whytehead in his estimate of Dr . I have frequently read it in public , at Masonic and other meetings , and have been entreated aftersvards to get copies for the brethren . What has become of Bro . Tsveddell ' s proposed volume of Masonic sonnets ? I have seen them in that clever and admirably illustrated " Voice of Masonry , " Chicago , the Sydney Freemason , and other svell-knosvn Masonic publications , at home and abroad ; but the compilation has not as yet
appeared . Some of them are admirably adapted for public recitation , and svould turn a period felicitously in many a speech given by our Masonic orators on post-prandial occasions .
