importing free negroes into the West India Islands . ——On the same evening , in the Commons , Mr . Berkeley ' s annual motion in favour of the Ballot was defeated by a majority of 257 to 189 . On the 1 st of July , the House of Commons was occupied during its entire sitting in discussing Medical Reform , Mr . Headlamp Bill , having that object , was read a second time by a majority of 225 to 78 .
