such a conclusion , without at all attempting to dictate to the brethren , he should certainly like to ses the AV . J . D . —Bro . AV . H . MAKTIS , S . W ., thought that as the brethren of the Glamorgan Lodge had in their wisdom decided that their AV . M . was not entitled to sit upon a committee of P . M . 's , they might take offence at this lodge coming to , and acting upon , a different conclusion ; and with this view proposed an amendment , substituting the name of another P . M . for that of Bro . Roberts . —The amendment was seconded by Bro . Annus , and upon being put to tho lodreceived the support of those two brethren only .

ge The original proposition , being supported by all the other brethren , was duly carried . —The W . MASTER stated that fche brethren of fche province had been invited to lay the foundationstone of the new parish church afc Neath , and ho hoped fco see a goodly muster of the Bute Lodge upon that occasion . The ceremony would take place in the latter end of September , and ample notice would be given of the clay when fixed . —The lodge

having also been summoned for passing and raising was passed to the second degree , when Bros . Travell and Morgan , having undergone an examination in this degree , retired , and upon the lodge being openeel in the third degree , were re-admitted , and raised to the sublime degree of Master Masons in due form and according to ancient custom , the W . On Tuesday , the 23 rd ult ., the Most Noble the Marquis of Donegall was installed as Provincial Grand Master , at Belfast , and the occasion was celebrated with full Masonic honours . Lord Donegall ' s appointment dates from the 10 th of July , 1 S 56 , in succession to Archdeacon Msmt , resigned ; but , owing to his

lordship ' s absence from the province , the ceremony of installation was not gone through until the present time . Advantage has been taken of his lordship ' s visit to his property in Belfast to perform that duty , and it was accomplished with all the pomp and display befitting the occasion , 'the aggregate number of Masons present was about 300 . The ceremony took place in the Ulster Hall . The minor hall was fitted up as a lodge , and at

five o ' clock , fche brethren having assembled , properly clothed , the lodge was opened in clue form by Bro . C . Lanyon , D . Prov G . M ., assisted b y the ollicers ofthe Provincial Grand Lodge . Tho proceedings were then adjourned to the large hall , the officers occupying the orchestra , and the other members being disposed round the balcony .
