The minutes of December meeting were read and confirmed , and the balance-sheet and Auditors' report were

read and approved , when Bro . James Holhdge was passed by the W . M . to the Degree of F . C . Bro . Cantle , P . M ., acting as D . C , then presented Bro . R . H . Rogers , the W . M . elect , to the VV . M ., to receive at his hands the benefit of installation . This ceremony was performed by Bro . Ferguson in a most exemplary manner , his work from

beginning to end being most impressive , without a hitch or faltering for a word . After his installation , Bro . Rogers invested the following brethren as his officers : Bros . D , Ferguson , I . P . M . ; E . Austin , S . W . ; J . B . Colwill , I . W . j E . Thurkle , PAL , Treas . ; J . J . Cantle , P . M ., Sec . ; B . C . Helden , S . D . ; C . Rawley Cross , J . D . ; J .

On the summons there was the name of a gentleman for initiation ; but a telegram was received from him , stating he was detained at Reading , and would not be able to be up in time . Before the lodge was closed , the Secretary informed the W . M . and brethren he had received communications from Bro . G . F .

Williams , saying he was too unwell to be present ; he also informed the brethren of the great bereavement of Bro . Head , who was prevented from being present by the death of his daughter , aged 13 , and whose funeral had taken place | that dav . Bro . J . Williams , P . M ., proposed , and Bro . E . Thurkle , P . M ., seconded , that a letter of condolence be written to Bro . Head by the Secretary , expressing

the sympathy of the brethren with him in his great affliction ; also that a letter of condolence should be written to the widow of the late deceased Bro . Shute , P'M . After the lodge was closed , the brethren adjourned to the Holborn Restaurant , where a very excellent banquet was provided . The VV . M ., in rising to propose thc first toast , said he should civc the different toasts with all earnestness , but

very briefly , as long speeches were not his forte , and there was a very excellent programme of music , & c , provided , which he thought would be much more entertaining than any speeches he could make . On the gavel being taken by Bro . Ferguson , P . M ., he said he had very much pleasure in asking them to drink not only to "The Health of the VV . M ., " but to that of

"The First Initiate in the Creaton Lodge . " It was always a very great satisfaction to see a Mason work through all the Degrees to thc chair , but more so when it was in the brother ' s mother lodge . Bro . Rcgers had done so , and he congratulated him on being placed in the chair , and the lodge on having so good a brother as Master . In replyBro . Rogers said he was afraid , when he

, thought how excellently the chair had been filled by most of the brethren who had preceded him , that he would be often found wanting ; however , he would do his very best to be all Bro . Ferguson had said of him . The VV . M . then proposed " The Health of the I . P . M . as Installing Master , and the rest of the P . M . 's . " With regard to the LP . M ., they all knew how well he had

worked during the past year , and how well he had completed his year of office by so beautifully rendering that ceremony in which he had been the principal actor . It was a pleasure to every zealous Mason to be placed in the chair , but when it was done in so perfect a manner as it had been done by the Installing Brother that day , it was something to feel proud of . He was pleased to be the

mouthpiece of the lodge , and present to him that P . M . 's jewel , and , in pinning it on his breast , he did so with the sincere wish lhat he might be spared for many years lo wear it , and be with the brethren of the Creaton Lodge . The other P . M . ' s , he was pleased to say , they were all proud of , and proud to look up lo ; they had all done good suit and service in the lodge , and some of them in the

Craft outside thc lodge . He was sorry more were not present , but death had taken some and business prevented others . He asked the brethren to join with him in drinking to " 'The Health of the Installing Master and P . M . ' s ot the Creaton Lodge . " Bro . Ferguson , in responding , thanked the VV . M . and the brethren very much for thc honour they had conferred upon him , and it should always be his wish and endeavour to do all he possibly could to forward the interest of the

lodge . In pioposing "The Visitors , " the Worshipful Master said they were always pleased to have visitors amongst them , and that night they had several W . M . ' s of lodges , and among them Bro . Cama , whom they knew , not only

for the great good he had done for freemasonry in general and its Charitable Institutions in particular , but that he was the brother proposed for the oflice ot Grand treasurer . They could not possibly have a better man , and he hoped he would be successful . With the toast he coupled the names of Bros . Cama , VV . M . 2105 ; Baker , VV . M . 2030 ; and Reynolds , P . M . 14 . ) 1 .

Reports Of Masonic Meetings.

Bro . Cama expressed his thanks to the VV . M . and brethren for their good wishes . He had always done his best to forward the principles of Freemasonry and its Charities in every way , and should continue to do so ; and if the brethren thought fit to elect him as their Grand Treasurer he could assure them he would do all he possibly could to make them pleased with their selection .

Bro . VV . H . Baker , after expressing his thanks , said he should do all he possibly could to support Bro . Cama for the Grand Treasurership ; first , because he thought he was the proper man to be elected to that oflice , and secondly , because he thought the present time a most fitting one to give that high office to a brother representing the Indian Empire . This year we were to have the

Colonial Exhibition , and many brethren from India and the colonies would be here , and he thought they could not do better than elect Bro , Cama to that office . The toasts of "The Treas . and Sec . " and "Officers " followed , and were replied to . Some excellent recitations were given by Bro . Reynolds , and music by Madame Paget , and Bros . Weston , Kift , and Cantle .

read and approved , when Bro .

Kift , I . G . ; A . Wolter , D . C ; C . H . Bull , W . S . ; H . A . Taylor , A . W . S . ; and J . Woodstock , Tyler .

M . 14 . ) 1 .
