He has been exalted to the Royal Arch Degree and is a member of the Burdett Chapter , No . 1293 , Hampton Court , and the Westminster and Keystone Chapter , No . 10 . In the Masonicand Military Order of Knights of Rome and of the Red Cross of Constantino , he holds the office of Grand Examiner , and as such is a member of the Grand Senate ,

For the last eight years he has served on the House Committee of the Girls ' School , of which institution he is a vice-patron , besides having acted as Steward at several of its anniversary festivals . GRAND PURSUIVANT . Bro . L . F . LITTELL , Grand Pursuivant , was appointed Assistant Grand Pursuivant in 1882 . It is unnecessary , therefore , that we should repeat the account we then gave of his Masonic career .
GRAND ASSISTANT PURSUIVANT . Bro . WILLIAM STEPHENS , Assistant Grand Pursuivant , was initia ted into Freemasonry in the Vilruvian Lodge , No . 87 , on the 13 th January , 1869 , and in June of the same year joined the Grosvenor Lodge , No . 1257 . In 1 S 71 he was a founder and first Senior Warden of the Clapton Lodge , No . 1365 , and was elected to fill the chair the year following . He is also a
founder and hrst VV . M . ot the Marquess of Ripon Lodge , No . 1489 , the present being his second year of service in the latter capacity ; a joining member and Past Master of the Unity Lodge , No . 1637 ; and one of the founders of the Earl of Carnarvon Lodge , No . 1642 , and its first Steward at the festival of the Girls' School . He was appointed Provincial Grand Director of Ceremonies Middlesex in 1879 , and Provincial Grand Senior Deacon last year . In
Royal Arch Masonry he has achieved equal distinction . He was exalted in Sincerity Chapter , No . 174 , in May . 1872 , and joined the Whittington Chapter , No . 862 , and was Installed M . E . Z . in 1876 ; is a founder and P . Z . of Clapton Chapter , No . 1365 , Holmesdale Chapter , No . 874 , 'lunbridge Wells , Ezra Chapter , No . 14 S 9 , and the Stanmore Chapter , No . 1549 ; was appointed by Viscount Holmesdale Prov . G . A . Sojourner Kent in 1870 . and
by Sir Francis Burdett , Bart ., last year Prov . G . Scribe N . Middlesex . In Mark Masonry he is a Past Master of the Clapton Mark Lodge , No . - > 36 , and I . P . M . of St . Mark ' s , No . I , as well as a Grand Steward . He is a Past Sovereign of the Order of Rome and Red Cross of Constantine , a Knight Templar , and a member of the Rosicrucian Society and of the and other
Allied Degrees . For many years he has served on the Committee of the Royal Masonic Benevolent Institution , and also on the Board of Benevolence , Board of General Purposes , and General Committeeof Grand Chapter . He is a Vice-President of the Benevolent Institution and Life Governor of both Schools , while the office of Festival Steward to one or other of the Charities has been filled by him on as many as eleven different occasions .
