Reports Of Masonic Meetings.
Lodge who had done the work more perfectly than he was doing it . The toast was received in the most hearty manner by the brethren , and The Worshipful Master thanked the brethren for their kind expressions , and assured them that nothing should be wanting on his part to sustain the reputation of St . Luke ' s Lodge for good working .

, . The minutes of the last regular lodge were read and confirmed in the usual manner . Bro . Senior , VV . M ., said that before leaving the chair of K . S . he should like to say a few words respecting the officers who had worked under him during the past year . Speaking of their attendance he characterised it as almost perfection , for with a few exceptions they had attended every lodge and the lodges of
emergency , and not only attended but had been present at the opening of them . Respecting their working in the lodge he was proud to say it had been the admiration of the numerous brethren who had visited them during the past twelve months . In conclusion he most heartily thanked the officers and the brethren of the lodge for the very great kindness and courtesy shown to him during the time he had
occupied the chair . Bro . Senior then proceeded to install his successor , Bro . John Baker , which ceremony having been performed in an admirable manner , Bro . thanked the W . M . and brethren for accepting him . the ballot was afterwards taken for Mr . William Forman , a candidate for initiation , whowas proposed by Bro . S . Taylor seconded by Bro . W . Whittaker , and he was duly elected . Bro . F . Sale who was initiated at the regular meeting in February was passed to the Second Degree , the work being admirably done by the W . M . and his officers . The
charge was delivered by Bro . C Webster , S . W ., in a very impressive manner , after which Bro . W . Whittaker , P . M ., explained the tracing board in his usual masterly manner . A letter was read from the Chaplain , Bro . S . Onell , who was unable to be present owing to domestic affliction , and after the adjustment of certain accounts , nothing further offering , the lodge was closed in perfect
harmony and adjourned to May 9 th , emergencies excepted The brethren shortly after assembled in the lower room for refreshment , at the conclusion of which the VV . M . gave the usual loyal toasts . Frazer , P . M ., who was unable to be present at the last meeting through severe illness . In response Bro . Frazer expressed his sincere thanks to the brethren for having in such numbers visited and cheered him during his affliction . Bro . J . C Merry also ably responded . The ceremony of installation was performed by Bro . Kirby in so impressive a manner as to gain the merited approbation of all who were present , and he richly deserved the cordial vote of thanks which was recorded on the minutes . A very interesting feature in the proceedings was the presentation of a very handsome jewel to the retiring VV . M ., Bro . G . Band . The jewel , privately subscribed for bthe members
y , was presented by the W . M ., who in appropriate words expressed the respect and esteem with which the brethren regarded Bro . Band . A few brief , but telling words of thanks from Bro . Brand , and the usual routine business closed this part of the day's proceedings . Immediately the lodge was closed , the brethren adjourned to the banquet room where an excellent repast was provided
by tiro , bpurner , who deserves the highest credit not only for the fare that was provided , but for the excellent arrangements which conduced so much to the comfort and enjoyment of the brethren . After the usual loyal and Masonic toasts had been given , as is customary at these times , the claims of our excellent charities were brought prominently forward and found able and zealous advocates
in Bros . Ayling and Emmerson . It was pointed out that the occasion of the R . W . P . G . M . Lord Holmesdale , presiding at the Festival of the Boys ' Institution would be a fitting opportunity for the Masons of Kent to support their P . G . M . in so liberal a way as to make the event remarkable in the annals of the Institution . Bro . Kirby next proposed " The Health of the W . M . " in eulogistic terms coupling with it all good wishes .
The toast was drunk with the utmost cordiality and enthusiasm and feelingly responded to by the W . M . "The Health of the Installing Master" was proposed by Bro . Usher and suitably acknowledged . "The Health of the I . P . M . ; " " The Visitors ; " and " The Past Masters and Officers of the Lodge" followed , and the proceedings of a very pleasant evening closed with the Tyler ' s toast .
BATTLE . —Abbey Lodge ( No . 1184 ) . —There was a successful gathering of this flourishing provincial lodge on Thursday , 19 th inst ., at the Masonic Hall , presided over by Bro . Charles VV . , . The minutes of the last regular lodge were read and confirmed in the usual manner . Bro . Senior , VV . M ., said that before leaving the chair of K . S . he should like to say a few words respecting the officers who had worked under him during the past year . Speaking of their attendance he characterised it as almost perfection , for with a few exceptions they had attended every lodge and the lodges of
emergency , and not only attended but had been present at the opening of them . Respecting their working in the lodge he was proud to say it had been the admiration of the numerous brethren who had visited them during the past twelve months . In conclusion he most heartily thanked the officers and the brethren of the lodge for the very great kindness and courtesy shown to him during the time he had

Kirby in so impressive a manner as to gain the merited approbation of all who were present , and he richly deserved the cordial vote of thanks which was recorded on the minutes . A very interesting feature in the proceedings was the presentation of a very handsome jewel to the retiring VV . M ., Bro . G . Band . The jewel , privately subscribed for bthe members
y , was presented by the W . M ., who in appropriate words expressed the respect and esteem with which the brethren regarded Bro . Band . A few brief , but telling words of thanks from Bro . Brand , and the usual routine business closed this part of the day's proceedings . Immediately the lodge was closed , the brethren adjourned to the banquet room where an excellent repast was provided
by tiro , bpurner , who deserves the highest credit not only for the fare that was provided , but for the excellent arrangements which conduced so much to the comfort and enjoyment of the brethren . After the usual loyal and Masonic toasts had been given , as is customary at these times , the claims of our excellent charities were brought prominently forward and found able and zealous advocates
in Bros . Ayling and Emmerson . It was pointed out that the occasion of the R . W . P . G . M . Lord Holmesdale , presiding at the Festival of the Boys ' Institution would be a fitting opportunity for the Masons of Kent to support their P . G . M . in so liberal a way as to make the event remarkable in the annals of the Institution . Bro . Kirby next proposed " The Health of the W . M . " in eulogistic terms coupling with it all good wishes .
The toast was drunk with the utmost cordiality and enthusiasm and feelingly responded to by the W . M . "The Health of the Installing Master" was proposed by Bro . Usher and suitably acknowledged . "The Health of the I . P . M . ; " " The Visitors ; " and " The Past Masters and Officers of the Lodge" followed , and the proceedings of a very pleasant evening closed with the Tyler ' s toast .
