NEWPORT . —Silurian Lodge , ( No . 471 ) . —The regular monthly meeting of the members of this lodge took place at the Masonic Hall , Great Dock Street , on Friday last , and was very well attended . There were several Prov . G . Officers present , including the Prov . G . Chaplain P . P . S . G . W . ; Treas . P . G . ; Sec . Prov . G , D . C . The minutes of the last meeting were read and confirmed

the ballot took place , ancl Mv . A . Judd , of Newport , was unanimously advanced ; Bro . H . Fletcher , who was initiated in the Beaufort Lodge , 103 , Bristol , was also elected a subscribing member ; Bro . Voigt was then passed to the degree of F . C ; C . D . Phillips , W . 11 . Pickford , and A . P . Williams , were raised as M . M ' s . Both ceremonies was most cordially rendered by the W . M . — One guinea was voted to the fund for the relief of tbe families of those drowned in the " Captain , " and the lodge was closed in harmony , at 9 . 30 . p . m .

ALDEBURGIT . — Adah- Lodge ( No . 93 G ) . —The brethren of this prosperous Lodge held their regular Monthly Meeting on Friday , tbe 7 th inst ., and for the first time assembled in their new loelge room . Ac-ting ou the conviction that Masonic meetings should uot ( if possible ) be held in hotels , or public houses , this subject was first brought before tbe lodge by the W . M . in the early

part of this year ; and with the unanimous approval and support of the members the work has been satisfactorily carried out . Tbe lodge is erected on the property of Bro . Hay w .-ird , S . W ., to whose assistance and taste in decorating the room the brethren are much indebted . The lodge having been opened with prayer and minutes of the Inst regular meeting read and confirmed . Bro . E . C . Ling , Surgeon , was examined as to his proficiency in the first degree and retired ; the lodge was opened in the second

degree , and Iiro . Sing was passe ;! as a " Fellow Craftsman . " The W . M ., Bro . G . Harper , addressing the brethren congratulated them on tbe completion so far of their new lodge room as to enable them to hold their first meeting .
