Tedder was known for many years as an eminent vocalist , but for the last seven years has been afficted

¦ with deafness and nervous affection of the brain , and he is pronounced incurable . Iu consequence of this calamity , he cannot exercise his profession or contribute to the support of his wife and four young children , the eldest being nine years and the youngest three years old . The object of the committee , is to provide a sum sufficient to clear some debts he has incurred during the last two or three years . Bro . Tedder has boon

elected to an annuity , but until a sum be raised sufficient to clear off these debts , it will be impossible for him to realise any benefit from it . AV . Paice was initiated , the ceremony being perfectly worked by the W . M . A sum of £ 2 2 s . was voted from the funds of the llodge in aid of Bio . George Tedder ' s subscription list , and a urthor sum of £ 3 was collected by the brethren present . Bro . Buss , P . M . and Sec , announced his intention of becoming a Steward at the ensuing Festival of the Eoyal Masonic Benevolent Institute , the lodge heading the list with the sum of £ 10 to

enable Bro . H . G . Buss to become a Life Governor , as an acknowledgment for the able manner he had conducted the duties of Secretary , and his / . eal in the cause of tho various Masonic charities . The lodge was then closed , aud tho brethren sat down

to a sumptuous banquet . The usual loyal and Masonic toaste followed . Bro . John Coutts , P . M ., A . G . P ., responded to th . toast of the Grand Officers , and Bro . Paice for the initiate .
