Tho Lodge having closed , the brethen adjourned to a superb banquet ,

The usnal Loyal and Masonio toasts wero given by tho W . M . in pleasing and felicitous terms , and Bro . Hyde Pullen , in returning thanks , in eloquent terms , for tho Grand Officers , paid a warm tribute of praise to the W . M ., whom ho esteemed as a friend , for his efficiency as a Mason , and ho alluded to the fact that he had on the last installation meeting of tho Lodgo , recommended tho then YV . M ., Bro . Allen , to

instal his successor . He was gratified to observe that ho had taken his advice , and tho result was tho Installing Master had gained great credit to himself , nnd had dono honour to tho Lodge , by tho very efficient manncriu which he had performed tho duty . Tho W . M . then presented tho jewel of tho Lodgo to tho I . P . M ., and ia doing so acknowledged on behalf of tho members tho uniform kindness and

urbanity with which the duties of tho YV . M . had been performed during his year of office . The toast of tho Visitors was responded to by Bro . F . G . Baker P . M ., who stated that it had given him great satisfaction to witness tho ablo manner in whieh tho ceremony of installation had been performed by his pupil . Tho mnsical

arrangements wero of a very efficient character , and gave great plcasnro to the brethren assembled . Tho W . M . was warmly congratulated upon tho success which had attended his installation , and received many expressions of goodwill for continued success during his year of office . The Lodgo will not meet again until tho second Saturday in November .

Friars Lodge of Instruction , No . 1349 . —The members met on Tuesday evening , at Bro . J . H . Pavitt ' s , tho Liverpool Arms , Canning Town . Owing to the unavoidable absence of Bro . Macdonald , who had been elected to preside , the chair was taken by Bro . E . T . YVorslcy , the energetic Secretary of this Lodge of

Instruction . Amongst the brethren who were present to support him we may mention Bros . William Mnsto P . M . Preceptor , W . II . Myers P . M . S . W ., Smith J . YV ., Roberts Acting Secretary , Watkins S . D ., Watson J . D ., Day I . G ., Keablo , Morgan , Davis , Leach , & c . After due observance of preliminaries , tho ceremony of the second degree was rehearsed . The YV . M . then worked the first four sections of tho

second lecture , assisted by the brethren , Bros . Myers , Smith and Musto especially exhibiting their Masonic knowledge , much to the gratification of those assembled . Lodgo was opened in duo form , and Bro . Seymour-Clarko having offered as a candidate , ho was asked the usual questions and

entrusted . Lodgo was then opened in the second degree , when tho ceremony of passing was ably rehearsed by Bro . Goddard . Tho first and second sections of tho lecture wero worked by Bro . Eboracum Lodge , No . 1611 . —The regular meeting of this flourishing Lodgo waa held on Monday , afc York . Bro . C . E . Padel W . M . was in tho chair , and was supported by Bros . J . S . Cumberland I . P . M ., T . B . Whytehead P . M . P . P . G . D . C . Lecture Master , Rev . J . Blake Chaplain , J . T . Seller S . W ., G . Simpson J . W ., J . Kay Sec , J . York as S . D ., YV . many other visitors and members . After a successful ballot for a candidato , Mr . Peston was introduced and was initiated into tho mysteries of tho Craft , and Bro . Stnbbs was passed to tho second degree . Ballots woro then taken for two lifo memberships in tho Girls' School , which woro won by Bros . Kay and Brown . Tho name of a candidate for election was proposed , and the Lodgo wag closed .

Sackville Lodge , No . 1619 . —A regular meeting of this Lodgo was hold at tho Crown Hotel , East Grinstend , on Tuesday , 4 th inst . Tho brethren appeared in Masonic mourning , as a mark of respect to the memory of tho late Bro . John Noke , who was somo timo ago appointed an honorary member of this Lodgo , in recognition of his valuable services rendered to it , and whoso death wo

' s jewel be presented to Bro . John G . Horsey , on the expiration of his year of office . Bros . W . H . Brown and George Mitchell , candidates for passing , wero then entrusted nnd retired . The Lodgo

was opened in the second degree . Bros . Thomas Carder and Henry Horsey , candidates for raising , duly entrusted , the Lodgo opened in tho third degree , and these two brethren wero raised to tho sublime degree of M . M . After tho reading of a telegram in reply from the absent YV . M ., Lodgo was resumed in the second degree , when Bro . Sawyer vacated the chair in favonr of Bro . C . YV . Noehmer

P . M ., who passed Bros . Mitchell and Brown to tho second degree . Lodge was then resumed in tho first degree , and the ballot taken for Mr . George Berry , Superintendent of Police , East Grinstead , a candidato for initiation , who was ( the ballot being unanimous ) duly admitted into tho secrets of Freemasonry . Bro . S . Davison S . YV . was then unanimously elected W . M . for the ensuing year , Bro . W .

Hale P . M . Treasurer , and Bro . F . Sargeanb Tyler . Bros . Brown , Mitchell ancl Cooper were appointed members of the Audit Committeo . After referring in feeling terms to our departed brother John Noke , and tho transaction of further business , the acting YV . M . closed tho Lodge , and tho brethren assembled nt table , whero a very

pleasant evening was brought to a close with tho Tyler ' s toast . Tho London brethren wero again indebted to Bro . Pierpoint ( Superintendent of London Bridge Station , L . B . aud S . C . Railway ) , for the uso of a throngh saloon carriage from London , which much added to their comfort and convenience .

M . Bros . T . E . Goddard YV . M ., Partridge S . YV ., Kimbell J . YV ., Robson S . D ., YVinkley I . G . ; also Bros . McDonald , Lewis and Soymour-Clarke Sec . Lodgo was opened in duo form , and Bro . Seymour-Clarko having offered as a candidate , ho was asked the usual questions and

entrusted . Lodgo was then opened in the second degree , when tho ceremony of passing was ably rehearsed by Bro . Goddard . Tho first and second sections of tho lecture wero worked by Bro . McDonald , assisted by the brethren . Lodgo was then closed in tho second degree , and Bro . McDonald was elected W . M . for Monday , 24 th May , at 7 . 30 , when sections will be worked by the W . Eboracum Lodge , No . 1611 . —The regular meeting of this flourishing Lodgo waa held on Monday , afc York . Bro . C . E . Padel W . M . was in tho chair , and was supported by Bros . J . S . Cumberland I . P . M ., T . B . Whytehead P . M . P . P . G . D . C . Lecture Master , Rev . J . Blake Chaplain , J . T . Seller S . W ., G . Simpson J . W ., J . Kay Sec , J . York as S . D ., YV . P . Husband as J . D ., A . T . B . Turner M . C ., and

many other visitors and members . After a successful ballot for a candidato , Mr . Peston was introduced and was initiated into tho mysteries of tho Craft , and Bro . Stnbbs was passed to tho second degree . Ballots woro then taken for two lifo memberships in tho Girls' School , which woro won by Bros . Kay and Brown . Tho name of a candidate for election was proposed , and the Lodgo wag closed .

Sackville Lodge , No . 1619 . —A regular meeting of this Lodgo was hold at tho Crown Hotel , East Grinstend , on Tuesday , 4 th inst . Tho brethren appeared in Masonic mourning , as a mark of respect to the memory of tho late Bro . John Noke , who was somo timo ago appointed an honorary member of this Lodgo , in recognition of his valuable services rendered to it , and whoso death wo

which prevented his attendance . The minntes of three preceding meetings were then read and confirmed . In accordance with Bro . Sawyer's notice of motion , it was unanimously resolved that a P . M . ' s jewel be presented to Bro . John G . Horsey , on the expiration of his year of office . Bros . W . H . Brown and George Mitchell , candidates for passing , wero then entrusted nnd retired . The Lodgo

was opened in the second degree . Bros . Thomas Carder and Henry Horsey , candidates for raising , duly entrusted , the Lodgo opened in tho third degree , and these two brethren wero raised to tho sublime degree of M . M . After tho reading of a telegram in reply from the absent YV . M ., Lodgo was resumed in the second degree , when Bro . Sawyer vacated the chair in favonr of Bro . C . YV . Noehmer

P . M ., who passed Bros . Mitchell and Brown to tho second degree . Lodge was then resumed in tho first degree , and the ballot taken for Mr . George Berry , Superintendent of Police , East Grinstead , a candidato for initiation , who was ( the ballot being unanimous ) duly admitted into tho secrets of Freemasonry . Bro . S . Davison S . YV . was then unanimously elected W . M . for the ensuing year , Bro . W .

Hale P . M . Treasurer , and Bro . F . Sargeanb Tyler . Bros . Brown , Mitchell ancl Cooper were appointed members of the Audit Committeo . After referring in feeling terms to our departed brother John Noke , and tho transaction of further business , the acting YV . M . closed tho Lodge , and tho brethren assembled nt table , whero a very

pleasant evening was brought to a close with tho Tyler ' s toast . Tho London brethren wero again indebted to Bro . Pierpoint ( Superintendent of London Bridge Station , L . B . aud S . C . Railway ) , for the uso of a throngh saloon carriage from London , which much added to their comfort and convenience .

the questions leading from 1 st to 2 nd given by the W . M . The Lodgo was then advanced , and the questions leading from the 2 nd to 3 rd degree wero put by the W . M ., who also explained the working tools . Tho charge and lecture on tho tracing board wore given by Bro , Elamiers , The Lodge was clpscd at 9 . 30 p . m .
