jjo ^ ers Tyler , aud a goodly attendance of visitors and brethren . The minutes of the last meeting wero read and confirmed , and ballots wero taken for the admission of Messrs . Sally and Otto Rhoinhold , merchants , of Germany , with an unanimously favourable result ; thoso gentlemen will therefore be duly initiated at tho next meeting of tho Samson . Tho Lodge was then opened in tho second aud third
degrees , nnd on being resumed the YV . M . vacated the chair in favour of Bro . J . D . Barnett I . P . M ., who explained to the brethren that the YV . M ., knowing that he ( Bro . Barnett ) had initiated his brother ( tho YV . M . elect ) in tho mysteries of the Order , had , with that kindness nnd good fooling hy which he was always actuated , resolved that ho ( Bro . Barnett ) was the fit and proper person to instal his brother into
the chair of K . S . Bro . B . D . Barnett was then presented in dne form , nnd having given his assent to tho Ancient Charges , tho Lodgo was resumed to tho third degree , and tho brethren below the rank of I . M . withdraw . Bro . B . D . Barnett was then duly installed as YV . M . of tho Lodgo . After the brethren had been readmitted , and had saluted tho YV . M . in customary manner , ho invested tho following as

Barnett then , in a most perfect and impressive manner , delivered the customary addresses , which were listened to with much pleasure and
satisfaction by the brethren . Then followed tho Auditor's report , which was unanimously adopted . The YV . M . said that among his first duties and privileges was to perform a very pleasant task ; this was to present to the I . P . M . a handsome jewel , which had been unanimously voted by the members of the Lodge in recognition of his services as Master , and as a mark of their high esteem . There was
no ono whom ho would havo greater pleasure in decorating with such a testimonial than Bro . Rudderforth , who he trusted might live foxmany years to wear it , and be amongst them as one of the P . M . ' s . Bro . Rudderforth , in choice and appropriate terms , expressed his thanks . The brethren then proceeded to ballot for two Lifo Governor , ships in tho Masonio Charities , from the Samson Masonic Benevolent
Association , which is established to enable the members of the Lodgo and others to become Life Governors of any of the Royal Masonio Institutions by paying a subscription of Is per week . Tho successful members this evening were Bros . Williams and Qnincey , and upon the W . M . announcing that ho was representing the Lodge at the forthcoming " Boys' Festival , " the former brother placed his £ 10 10 s
on the W . M . ' s list . Bro . Qnincey required his amount for one of the other Institutions . The Lodge was then closed in duo form , and the brethren adjourned to an excellent banqnet , served by Bro . Best . After tho cloth was removed the YV . M . said it was impossible for him to give the usual toasts in any novel manner , as whatever he could say in proposing them had already been said over and over again ,
therefore it was his intention to submit them to their notice in as brief a way aa he could . Then followed the nsual list . Bro . H . Hollis , P . P . G . Officer Herts , responded for the Grand Officers , and Bro . Bayley YV . M . 185 for the Visitors . In proposing the health of the Installing Master , the W . M . said that he was a brother of whom any Freemason might justly be proud , but as he was doubly related
