Several candidates will be installed members of the Order , and a large gathering is anticipated ,

Middlesex Treasurer , W . Hammond P . P . G . D . Middlesex Secretary ,

Tozor wa 3 then presented as a candidato for tho sublime degroe , and tho usual preliminaries having been observed , ho withdrew until after tho opening of tho Lodge on tho centre , when ho was duly raised to tho degree of a Master Mason .

Both ceromonios wero admirably rendered by tho Master , and tho Lodgo is to bo congratulated in having a brother in tho chair so perfect in tho ritual . Bro . J . Hurst I . P . M . was appointed Steward for tho Eoyal Masonic Institution for Girls . A lotter was received from E . W . Bro . Colonel Bnrdotl , P . G . M . Middlesex , regretting absence from homo precluded his attendance , and a similar communication was sent by Bro . J . E . Hunt D . C . All other business

being concluded , tho Lodgo was closed , and tho brethren adjourned to partako of refreshments well catered by Bro . Murphy . Tho usual Loyal and Masonic toasts followed . All tho speeches were judiciously short , the responses hearty , tho firing excellent , tho enjoyment thorough , and after somo vocal contributions by Bros . Hnrsfc , Jessott and Walls , tho brethren separated , at an early hour . Tho next meeting will be held Thursday , 17 th January 1878 .

Upton Lodge of Instruction , No . 1227 . —Held , its Aveekly meeting at Bros . Bolton and Lane ' s , the King and Queen , Norton Folgato , at 8 p . m ., on Friday the 9 th inst .
