Reports Of Masonic Meetings.

After the formal opening of the lodge , and the confirmation of the minutes , Bro . Wm . H . Dallimore was impressively installed as W . M . by Bro . W . H . Bale , P . M ., Treas . The following officers were invested : Bros . C . Carter , , p M . ; J . Clayson , S . W . ; J . J . Holmes , J . W . ; VV . II . Bale , P . M ., Treas . ; VV . Stuart , P . M ., Sec . ; J . H . Gray , S . D . J J . Davidson , J . D . ; J . Conquest , I . G . ; E .

Chamberlain , P . M ., D . of C . ; W . Wright , P . P . G . Org . Middx ., Org . ; W . A . Hardy and T . Wood , Stewards ; and J . l-ec > Tyler . The W . M . at once proved his proficiency in the ritual by ably initiating Messrs . R . Chenery , C . Poupard , W . H . Langley , J . S . Purser , and I . J . Kussell . Other business was transacted , and the lodge was closed .

After a substantial banquet the customary toasts were honoured . Bro . C . Carter , I . P . M ., in proposing "The Health of the W . M ., " said he could see how much the members appreciated the time and attention Bro . Dallimore had given to Freemasonry , and they were all agreed that he would be a great and distinguished Master of the lodge .

The W . M . had shown them what he could do that evening , and evidence pointed to the probabality of his doing more in the future . Bro . Dallimore had gone through all the offices in a manner that did him gtv ? at credit , and during his Mastership he would give the brethren great pleasure and enjoyment . Bro . W . H . Dallimore , W . M ., having thanked the

I . P . M . for his kind remarks and the brethren for their reception , said he had arrived at the height of his ambition in that lodge , which was to fill the chair . He was proud of the position , and proud to see such a large number of brethren around him . If he was spared during the year he would do his utmost to satisfy the brethren of the lodge , and if he had succeeded that evening , the thought gave him

great pleasure , and was his reward . He intended going up as Steward for the Boys' School , and the lodge had voted 20 guineas . He had also added 30 guineas , and hoped to add another 30 . If any brother had anything to give in the cause of Charity , he hoped they would give it . He now wished to propose "The Health of the LP . M ., " who had not perhaps been blessed with five initiates , but was ,

however , equal to the work if he had but been afforded the opportunity . Bro . Carter had gone through the chair creditably , and he ( the W . M . ) had a great deal of pleasure in pinning a Past Master ' s jewel upon his breast , and asking him to accept it on behalf of the lodge . The members hoped the I . P . M . would have long life to wear it and be proud of it .

Bro . C . Carter , I . P . M ., said he hardly knew how to express himself in fitting terms for the honour done him in voting that jewel . He valued it very much , and hoped to transmit it to his child after him . He regretted not having been able to initiate any candidates , but if the opportunity had arisen he ' would have done his best , as he was fairly well prepared . He thanked them very sincerely for the

manner in which they had drunk his health , and more especially for the kind vote which had placed the jewel on his breast . The W . M . next proposed "The Installing Master , " and said he doubted if any brother present had ever heard the ceremony more creditably performed . Bro . Bale , P . M ., was always ready to perform any ceremony , and was the

lirst to come to the assistance of the I . P . M . Bro . W . H . Bale , P . M ., Treas ., thanked the W . M . for the Mattering terms in which he had proposed the toast . It was a pleasure and honour to install so worth y a brother into the chair , having started Bro . Dallimore in Freemasonry and watched his progress very carefully since . He looked to the W . M . for great things for the lodge . It was onlv

seven or eight years ago since a few pioneers , including the Past Masters present that evening , took the lodge in hand , and he asked all the brethren present had they made it a success ? They were still not satisfied , and wanted to do more . 'They had now placed the lodge in a foremost position , and had done more for the Charities during the last seven or eight years than any lodge in London .

1 he Initiates " having been honoured , " 1 he Visitors " was acknowledged in cordial terms by Bros . G . Gardner I ' . P . G . S . B . ; Milldred , P . M . ; and Wood . Other toasts followed , and a pleasant evening terminated with the 'T yler ' s toast . . Bro . VV . Wright , P . P . G . Org . Middx ., presided at the Pianoforte during the evening , and the following assisted in a musical programme : Bros . A . Weston , J . Davidson , E . Uevey . 'l . Lane , and others .

I . P . M . for his kind remarks and the brethren for their reception , said he had arrived at the height of his ambition in that lodge , which was to fill the chair .

He now wished to propose "The Health of the LP . however , equal to the work if he had but been afforded the opportunity .
