-, c ^ f MINNEHAHA MINSTREL LODGE , No . 2363 . THE regular meeting was held at the Victoria Hotel , Manchester , on Monday , 28 th ult ., Bro . Sam Luke Worshipful Master , there being a very large attendance of members and visitors .

After the reading and confirmation of minutes , a successful ballot was taken for Mr . Charles Beswick , Traveller , Crumpsall , and that gentleman was regularly initiated into ancient Freemasonry by the W . M .

At the festive board which followed , Loyal and Masonic toasts were duly honoured , that of the newly-initiated Brother falling to the lot of Bro . Purdy Organist . The W . M . proposed the health of the visitors , extending to

them a very cordial welcome . During the evening Bro . Luke presented to Bro . R . G . Ward ( who is a prominent member of the Minnehaha Minstrel troupe ) a handsome silver tea-service , one of the articles containing the following inscription : —

Hiram Taylor to the sublime degree of M . M . Bro . Smith W . M . performed both ceremonies , and , at the festive board which followed , he , was congratulated upon the admirable manner in which they had been done .

CONCORD CHAPTER , No . 124 . THE annual meeting was held at the Masonic Hall , Durham , on Tuesday evening , 29 th ult ., when there was a good attendance of Arch Masons . Companion J . Walton was installed M . E . Z . and Companion J . Rickerby J . Companion J . W . Cuthbertson will be installed as H . when he returns from active service in South Africa .-The installing ceremony was ably performed by Comp . Brown P . Z . P . x . G . D . C . and Comp . Rev . J . Lawson P . Z . P . P . G . A . S .

It was agreed that the sum of one guinea should be voted from the Chapter to the fund now being raised for the distressed Freemasons in South Africa . At the conclusion of the Chapter , refreshments were served in the banquetting hall .

HARMONY CHAPTER , No . 309 . THE annual meeting was held at the Red Lion Flotel , Fareham , on Thursday evening , 17 th ult . Comp . G . Felton Lancaster conducted the ceremony with accustomed skill and solemnity . Comp . G . D . Birch was installed

as 1 st , Comp . H . A . F . Smith as 2 nd , and Comp . C . Reader as 3 rd Principal . Comp . J . W . Gieve was re-elected as Treasurer , and specially thanked for his fulfilment of the duties of that office for many years , and Comp . E . H . Buck was appointed Scribe E ,

At the annual banquet , special honour was given to the toast of "Absent Companions in South Africa , " and reference was made to the fact that the Rev . Norman Lee , a member of the Chapter , was one of the Chaplains to the forces at the front .

ST . JOHN CHAPTER , No . 328 . THE annual meeting was held on Wednesday evening , 16 th ult ., at the Masonic Hall , Torquay . Comp . J . Taylor P . P . G . S . N .

acted as the Installing Principal , the Officers installed being Comp . T . A . Blackler Z ., and F . J . VV . Crowe P . P . G . C . H . The J . -elect Comp . R . D . Renwick , was unavoidably absent , owing to illness . A donation was voted to the Grand Lodge Fund for distressed Masons in the Transvaal

In the unavoidable absence of Comp . J . Lander M . E . Z ., the chief chair was occupied by Comp . Major G . Shanks , K . M ., t . Z ., who ( when the minutes of the previous meeting had been confirmed ) proceeded to exalt Bro . E . M . Martin to the Royal Arch degree , which he did in his usual excellent style . A special feature 01 his

working being the delivery of the very interesting Mystical lecture . Comp . Shanks then installed the new First and Second Principals in a most impressive manner ; and the third Principal was installed by Comp . Trethewey P . ADAIR CHAPTER , No . 1750 . AT the Public Hall , Cleveddn , on Tuesday afternoon , ist ult ., the installation took place , the ceremony being performed by the Prov . Grand Supt . Comp . R . C . Else . Comp . E . Thatcher was installed Z ., Comp . W . H . Collins H ., and Comp . C . A . Hayman J .

At Regent House , the usual banquet was afterwards held , at which the customary Arch toasts were honoured , and a pleasant evening was spent .

BRETHUEN from the north , east , south and west assembled with commendable punctuality at the meeting of this Lodge 01 Instruction , held at the Bunch of Grapes , Lime Street , on Wednesday , 13 th inst . A hearty welcome was given to the representative o £ the FBEEMASON ' S CHRONICLE , as those Brethren unable to attend from time to time like to watch the workings as reported in their favourite journal .

Bro . J . Mears P . M . occupied the chair , supported by Bros . Goovaerts Treasurer S . W ., Metcalf Baillie J . VV . Assistant Secretary , Spice I . P . M . Prec , Davey P . M . and Pennock P . M . Assistant Preceptors , W . H . Johns S . D ., N , Haughton J . D ., H . Rowland I . G ., & e . - The ceremonies of passing and initiation were rehearsed in grand and solemn style by the W . M ., Bro . Done being candidate in both cases .

The proceedings were somewhat prolonged , through the large amount of business introduced at the second rising of the W . M ., including the summer outing and the presentation to Bro . Elvin that will take place next Wednesday ; when we hope to be there . The Confidence Lodge of Instruction is now becoming a favourite rendezvous for members of the Craft , and among those present we noticed Bros . Bushell , Jackson , Osborne , Cooke , Wood , Carr , Shepherd , Way , & c , Bro . Pitt P . M ., that venerable pillar , was in grand form .

ON the 30 th ult ., those present included Bros . Baillie W . M ., Latham S . W ., Mears J . W ., Spice Preceptor , J . K . Pitt Sec , Goovaerts S . D ., Bushell J . D ., Green I . G ., Pennock , Davoy , Carr , Clark , Way , Wood , & c . The ceremony of initiation was rehearsed , Bro . Nat Wool acting ; as the candidate . The second ceremony was next gone through , Bro . Carr being first examined and entrusted , auJ acting as the candidate .

Bro . Mears P . M . aud preseuS Master 788 was elected a member , aud pleasing reference was made , and kind words expressed , to the youngest member of the Lodge—Bro , Green—who anticipated the marriage tie the following day .

rrU-IERE was a record meeting on the 23 rd ult . We noticed the place waB I pretty lull before the Officers took their chairs , and for some time alterwavds Brother Inner Guard was kept busy .
