BATH . —On Tuesday the 25 th October , the Rose Croix Chapter of St . Peter and St . Paul Avas opened and consecrated , at Bath , under the most fai'ourable auspices . There ivere present many distinguished Brethren from distant parts of England , AA'ho availed themselves of the opportunity of ivitnessing this interesting ceremony . Among these Avere two Sov . Grand Insp . Gen . of the Supreme Grand Council of the 33 rd DegreeBro . AVilliam Tucker and Lieut . Col .
, Vernon , who undertook tbe ceremonies of consecrating the Chapter and p lacing the M . AV . S . Bro . Charles John Vigne , 31 , in the chair , Avhich they performed in the most beautiful and impressive manner ; and Bro . Costa , Avho most kindly presided at the organ , com-, pleted , by bis playing , that solemn character , for Avhich this beautiful Degree , when vrell gii'en , is so eminently distinguished . The M . and his Officers received the most complimentary expressions of tbe satisfaction felt by the S . G . I . G . ' s , at the quiet ancl perfect manner in AA'hich everything Avas arranged and conducted ; and Ave can assure our Brethren that if any deserving M . M . ( AA'hich is the only rank necessary to entitle a candidate to receive this Degree ) is anxious to become a Sovereign Prince Rose Croix , or 18 th Degree ,
under tbe Supreme Grand Council of the 33 rd , he cannot do better than take it in tbe Chapter of St . Peter ancl St . Paul , Bath . We feel sure , that when such zeal and such good management go hand in hand , success must follow ; and this Ave heartily Avish to those enterprising Brethren , who have lately so eminentl y distinguished themselves by their activity in raising Masonry to its proper standard in the west .
